Light From Mars likes to track the leaders but isn't in my top four and is an outside chance. Nenge Mboko also likes to track the leaders but may need the run after being off course for 191 days. He has no form over the course and distance. Tax Free is twelve years old now and his best days are behind him and prefers five furlongs so another outsider in this race. Line Of Reason comes out third on my figures with its hold-up or track leaders style but may need the run after 184 days off. Go Far likes to track the early pace and isn't in my top four so may
not get involved. Dutiful Son only comes out fourth on my figures but is the short priced 6/4 favourite and being only four years old could be a fast improving horse and is either held up or tracks the leaders. Macs Power has finished second on all three of its recent runs and comes out second on my figures and a versatile horse. Vincenti may find this trip too far and this might be the wrong course for it likes to track the leaders. Marjong is a hold up horse and has done its best time at the trip but on good to firm going and is six pounds better off than when it was beaten by Dutiful Son by a length and a half last time out but the winner may have won with a bit more to give if needed. New Leyf is a hold up type and comes out top on my figures and is eight pounds better off than when beaten into third by a length by Go Far last time out but it wasn't a fast run race.
SUMMARY: A hard race to find the winner. Dutiful Son won cosily last time out and could improve again. The top rated New Leyf is a big price at 33/1 but there's no guaranteed pace-setter in the field so the race could become a tactical affair. New Leyf may be worth a very small each way bet just because the price is way too big but with everything taken into account the best option might be to leave the race alone and wait for a better proposition another day.
