A twelve runner race. Outbid, Dear Ben, Homeboy and Steel City Boy have been known to lead before. Outbid comes out fourth on my ratings and is drawn in stall two so likely to hit the front - the one to catch. Steel City Boy is my third top rated but hasn't been in very good form lately and has it to do. My second top rated horse is Speedyfix. It's either held up or tracks the
leaders and has a decent draw in stall three. Lord Buffhead is the highest rated and even better housed in stall one. He will hopefully sit in a nice position - just in behind - and prove the strongest at the finish.
6.45 Wolverhampton - An eight runner race. Saga Lout, Lucky Dan, Indian Affair & Greenhead High have been known to lead. Greenhead High is the highest rated of the possible front runners and comes out second in this field. A wide draw - and others vying for the lead - makes it a bit of a scramble to get to the front. The leaders may take each other on and set this up for the hold up types. Colourbearer is 11/4 favourite. He's been in the best form of all of these, finishing third and first in its last two races, but only comes out fifth on my figures. It only take one of the four higher rated to run to form to beat him and I wouldn't be backing it. Looks a nice lay bet. Dark Lane is top rated but isn't well berthed in stall eight. This gelding likes to track the leaders and hopefully prove the best at the finish.
SUMMARY: I'll be having a bet on Lord Buffhed at 5/1 (6:15 Wolverhampton), while in the having a small bet on Dark Lane at 7/1 (6:45 Wolverhampton). Lay the favourite Colourbearer for small stakes. (E.R.I.C.)
