2:30 Ripon Racing Tip (17th April) PPR FOUNDATION HANDICAP (Div I) (CLASS 4) (4yo+ 0-85)

The most likely pace setter is Mysterial but its times are not really good enough and this trip may be too short for it. This gelding might get an uncontested lead and as a four year old could be open to some improvement. My second and third top rated: Lulu The Zulu and Barkston Ash are usually found tracking the pace so both could have place claims. Top rated DARK CASTLE is usually a hold-up horse but it may need the run to gain fitness but at 12/1 is perhaps worth a very small each way bet.

3.05 Ripon - The only known pace setter is Towbee but this one may need the run and the trip too far. Also, would perhaps prefer a slower surface. The top rated is RED REFRACTION 6/1 from the Hannon yard. This colt can either be held up or track the leaders and hopefully come home the strongest.

4.50 Ripon - I'm not a fan of apprentice or amateur riders races but I thought that WASEEM FARIS could have had a chance when it ran three days ago but decided to leave the race alone. As all of my top four might have needed the run, the selection ran quite well to finish third. Being brought out again so quickly in what looks like a slightly easier race I'm suggesting a wager. It comes out top of my figures so the 4/1 on offer looks reasonable.

3:30 Newmarket - This is a very good quality race and the favourite Aljamaaheer is priced 6/4. This horse has been running in group races but mainly over eight furlongs and it might be the proverbial good thing but I'm going to stick with proven form over the six furlongs here. There are two likely leaders Es Que Love and the selection HAMZA 4/1. If Hamza gets to the front and sets a really fast pace it just may be too quick for the favourite (E.R.I.C.)

Hamza 4/1 1st
