3:10 Hamilton Racing Tip (28th May) AVON GORGE HANDICAP (CLASS 6) (3yo+ 0-65)

A ten runner class six handicap. In fact a very poor race but I might have found something for an each way bet. There looks like three possible pace setters: Chloes Dream, Ballarina & Biscuiteer. The only horse with any worthwhile speed figure is ROCK CANYON 8/1. With the early pace this hold-up type should finish fast to gain the victory. At the price it has to be done each way just in case it doesn't get the clear run it needs.

4:15 HAMILTON - A fourteen runner class five handicap over six furlongs. There's only one known front runner and that is Baron Run. I doubt it will stay there as it isn't in my top five rated. Lothair likes to track the leaders and is my fifth top rated but all of my top four can either be held up or track the early pace: Al Khan, my third joint top rated is the top weight but the trainer has put a five pound claimer on board to help its chance; Dartrix is my second top rated and also has a claimer on board to try and help its cause; Salvatore Fury is the other third top rated and any one of these four are capable of making the frame; while my top rated is ALEXANDRAKOLLONTAI, who also has a claimer on board to help its chances and the stable is in decent form this month. At 16/1 it could make a decent each way bet.

SUMMARY: 3.10 Hamilton - ROCK CANYON 8/1 looks like the best of a very poor bunch and hopefully can show here but I'd take the safe option with a small each way bet. 4.15 Hamilon - ALEXANDRAKOLLONTAI 16/1. Best to take the safe option with a small each way bet.

PS: don't forget to watch the earlier races at Hamilton to make sure the going isn't soft. The Racing Post says it's good going but I'd rather check this before betting.

Alexandrakollonkai 1st (avd) 16/1
