4:20 Catterick Racing Tips (23rd July) Expert Sprint Race Analysis

Nine runners but the bottom three have never recorded a time to register at the bottom of my figures. However, Saffire Song, being a three-year-old, could improve. Red Baron & Mutafaakir are the known possible pace-makers - fourth and six top rated. The third rated Megaleka likes to race close to the pace but not actually lead. Second top rated is Economic Crisis who is either held up or tracks the early pace. Top rated is CRUISE TOTHELIMIT 10/3 who also can be held up or sit just behind the leaders.

4:00 Lingfield - The top rated Panther Patrol hails from Eve Johnson-Houghton stable but having had twenty-five older horses run at the course over the last five years without a winner doesn't inspire. I'm not prepared to take the chance it might change especially at the odds of 15/8 on offer.

4:30 Lingfield - Billy Red comes out top but the stable of John Jenkins is way out of form lately and hasn't had a winner from sixteen runners this month. Once again the odds of 4/1 second favourite don't appeal.

8:50 Sandown - Eight runners and half the field have been known to lead. My top two ratings are among the likely leaders. Alpha Delta Whiskey can lead and quite a versatile horse with its style of running so it's not certain what tactics it will employ. My top rated TOM SAWYER 11/2 can also track the pace if they go too fast in front but it can lead and set its own pace which would make it very hard to catch.
