Thirteen runners but a poor class five race and only three runners have achieved a time to register on my graphs. Five horses have been known to lead and my third top rated Native Falls and my second top rating Jinky are two candidates. For this grade, it could be a fast run race. If you take a look Jinky, trained by Linda Perratt, she also has Findog in this race and to make matters worse my top rated is SAXONETTE 16/1. Going back to my original thought about the race being run quickly for the grade it could play into the hands of a hold-up type or one that can sit just off the pace and pick up near the finish. Obviously the yard might only have one of the three runners fit enough to do itself justice, so at the odds I'm saying it might be best to bet on both JINKY 8/1 and SAXONETTE 16/1.
8:20 Wolverhampton - The surface here is starting to settle down and the times have been about a second faster. Even so, it may pay to be cautious until it settles properly and we can get a true reflection of the times. There are five possible leaders and best of these is likely to be Dream Catcher who is sixth on my figures. My third top rated Logan's Lad and second top rated Prince Of Passion both like to track the leaders. Top rated is INVIGILATOR 9/1 who can also track the leaders but if the pace is too fast at the front of the field it can be held up and think it has at least each-way claims at the price.
SUMMARY: 5:00 Ayr - With three horses running from the same stable and my top two ratings are both from that stable they have different styles of running. It is best to back both JINKY 8/1 and SAXONETTE 16/1 to small stakes. 8:20 Wolverhampton - The surface is still settling after being re-laid so stakes should be kept on the small side but it might pay with an each-way bet on INVIGILATOR 9/1. At these odds, it looks a value bet.
Jinky 8/1 3rd
Saxonette 16/1 6th
Invigilator 25/1 Unp
