1:50 Windsor Winning Race Tips (6th October) THAMES MATERIALS FEGENTRI WORLD CUP OF NATIONS STAKES (AN AMATEUR RIDERS´ HANDICAP)

I don't usually bother with amateur races but it's the only sprint of the day so I have looked through it and here are my thoughts. It's a low class six race so poor horses ridden by inexperienced jockeys doesn't bode well. Of the eight runners two have been known to lead but neither Prince Of Passion or Warm Order have recorded a time to register on my figures. However, if they gain an uncontested lead something could improve. Warm Order is still only a three-year-old so would be the one that is most likely. There are only two horses that have recorded a fast enough time to register on my scales. Second top rated is Quality Art who can either track the leaders or be held up whilst the top rated OSCAR'S JOURNEY 7/2 usually likes to sit just off the pace and stay on at the line.

SUMMARY: A low-grade race with inexperienced jockeys but by my ratings John Jenkins top weight OSCAR'S JOURNEY has a few pounds in hand over the rest of the field so if the jockey is capable of some level of competence then it should win. I can advise betting small stakes and, as usual, the going has to be at least good or firmer. I'm not sure if it will be as according to the Racing Post heavy rain forecast. Being the first race on the card, we will have to try and judge it the best we can relying on the report from the course.
