A poor class six race split into two divisions. In this first division there are two known front runners and one other, Red Tide, who could go from the front if nothing else does. One possible front runner is Big City Boy but this gelding hasn't done enough to make it the selection. However, it could be open to improvement but no wins from thirteen on the all-weather doesn't inspire. Top rated GREENHEAD HIGH 12/1 is the other likely leader and if it gets to the front it could be very hard to catch. It looks an interesting booking by the stable to have Joe Fanning riding.
1:40 Southwell - Division two. Three horses have led before. Electric Qatar is likely to lead if nothing else wants to. The favourite, Best Tamayuz, a three-year-old, is likely to lead and could have some improvement to come. However, it has a bit to find with my selection PULL THE PIN 9/1 who is also likely to try and lead and if it gets to the front could prove hard to catch.
SUMMARY: In both divisions my top rated are likely to lead. I'm hoping for an all-the-way double. 1:10 Southwell: GREENHEAD HIGH 12/1. If it leads, this horse will be hard to catch. At generous odds, it has to be a small each-way bet mainly because of the low grade and consistency isn't a given at this level. 1:40 Southwell - I'm hoping the experience of PULL THE PIN 9/1 will enable him to get the better of the favourite and set the pace. Ann Stokell's five-year-old gelding should finish strongly. At the odds I'd advise a small each-way bet.
