> Spellmaker can be held up or track the leaders and comes out third on my figures but I think it may be a better horse over five furlongs so I doubt this one will be able to catch the leaders.
> Tidals Baby is usually a hold up type of horse and its figure makes it fifth on my figures so once again I think this will struggle to catch the leaders plus its form lately has been woeful.
> Chapellerie is either held up or it tracks the leaders but its times only make it my fourth top rated so I think a place is the best it can hope for but would still need one of the top three not to run to their best.
> Pharoh Jake is another than can be held up or track the leaders and its best time makes it second best on my list so should make the frame if on its game.
> Black Vale is the first of the three possible leaders but its figures only make it my seventh best rated which makes me think it might not be able lead in this race and its got the worst of the draw, stall eight, to try that tactic.
> Half Way has been known to lead and produced a time over seven furlongs where it led all the way that would make it fourth on my figures, its ideally drawn in stall one to try and lead, it had a couple of months break from the beginning of October till December and its two runs since then have been very poor but its obviously a slightly hidden danger and cant be easily discounted.
> Profile Star is the third possible front runner but its best time only puts it sixth on my figures so doubt it will stay at the front for the whole race.
> Lujeanie can be held up or track the leaders and being drawn in stall two it should be able to get a nice position early in the race and then finish strongest in the finish.
SUMMARY: I think this race will only concern three horses but looking for the winner I think it looks a two-horse race, Half Way, who has led all the way over seven-furlongs and has got the ideal draw to repeat that effort, has two runs since a two month break and been poor. That sways me against this horse. I would need to see a return to form before it gets my vote. So my top two are Pharoh Jake, who will be staying on at the finish and will be thereabouts if it gets a clear run. But it might not get an early clear run if Black Vale, from stall eight, decided to try and lead. The horse can be held up if needs be. My top rated horse is LUJEANIE 4/1 who has got an ideal draw, in stall two, and I think will be able to follow the most likely leader from stall one. Saying all this, none of my top rated trainers are in the best of form but I cant see beyond these two so I'm going with the top rated as usual but I will only suggest a small bet.
Lujeanie 6/1 2nd
