2:50 Lingfield Winning Race Tips (9th January) DAILY PRICE BOOSTS AT UNIBET HANDICAP (CLASS 6) (4yo+ 0-60)

Only seven competitors with two known front runners. Ecliptic Sunrise whose best time from Kempton would make it fifth best. BUBBLY BAILEY who hasn't achieved a figure from this track but its best recorded time from Kempton makes it well ahead of the others plus it has a low draw and may attempt to lead all the way. The jockey's stats, when riding for this stable, don't inspire confidence but the rest of the stats are quite good. Just a small wager.

4:15 Wolverhampton - Eleven runners but only Bogsnog has been known to lead before but this horse hasn't had a run on the new Tapeta surface. However, being the only front runner it could gain an uncontested lead and have some improvement. Classic Pursuit, top weighted, is my third best rated and usually a hold-up type. Second best rated is the bottom weighted Master Of Disguise. I feel this one would be better off at five-furlongs. Top rated is BLACK DAVE who is a hold-up type and is well drawn in stall three to gain a good early position and then stay on the strongest at the finish.

4:45 Wolverhampton - Nine runners. Strategic Force is a possible front runner but hasn't achieved a time for this course and its Kempton performance is comparatively slow. Clubland is another possible leader and it comes out fourth on my figures so could have place claims. Third top rated is the bottom weight Dream Scenario. Second best is Invincible Ridge and both of them are track the leaders types. There's a third possible leader who is also my top rated RODRIGO DE TORRES. The other two possible leaders are drawn in stalls one and two. While the selection is not ideally drawn in stall eight to try and lead, but if it can reach the front before the bend it might not be taken too wide. If it does get to the front then it would be very hard to catch.

SUMMARY: 2:50 Lingfield - “IF” BUBBLY BAILEY (3/1) can reproduce its Kempton time here it would have quite a few spots in hand. The price is much bigger than it should be but as you can see “if” is a big word and then the price is way too small. However, I do think it is worth a small wager. 4:15 Wolverhampton - I'm slightly worried about Bogsnog gaining an uncontested lead. As usual, I'm sticking with my top rated BLACK DAVE (4/1) who should sit in a good, early position and then finish the strongest. In addition, this gelding's trainer stats are all positive so I'm hoping for a big run. 4:45 Wolverhampton - Three possible front runners but if RODRIGO DE TORRES (12/1) does get to the front it will be hard to catch. In a small field I think it will do just that. Also, the trainer stats all point to a big run.

Bubbly Bailey 3/1 5th
Black Dave 4/1 4th
Rodrigo De Torres NR

Thanks for your comment, John. Yes, it was a funny one, hey. Certainly a very short price sp. Eric said he wouldn't have been betting at those odds but posting in advance makes it difficult to judge how the market will go.

All the best,
Jason
