3:25 Southwell Winning Race Tips (31st March) DAILY ENHANCED "MAGIC MULTIPLES" AT UNIBET HANDICAP (CLASS 5) (4yo+ 0-75)

1— Refuse Colette has only had two runs on this course but they were over seven and eight furlongs and looking at that form this six furlong trip, on this slow surface, it might help its cause but whether it's fast enough to lead over I'm not sure. Also, William Carson has had seventeen rides for the stable without success so I'm erring on the side of caution and leaving it alone.

2— Vallarta has never run on an all-weather course but looking through its grass form I'm not convinced this surface will suit. It has got to overcome an absence of one-hundred-and-eighty-one days which puts this one out of my reckoning.

3— Alpha Tauri 14/1 has recorded the best time of any of these and can either lead or track the leaders but I do think it might be even better over a longer trip but is well drawn in stall two if it wants to attempt to lead all the way.

4— Bond Fastrac has had sixteen runs with one victory on the all-weather and that came at this distance but at Wolverhampton and I doubt this horse will like this slower surface and is usually either held up or tracks the leaders.

5— Exotic Guest hasn't raced before over this course and distance but it could be another that would prefer a faster surface so its not for me here.

6— Spowarticus is another horse that could lead or track the leaders and it comes out second on my ratings, which proves how poor this race really is because it's another runner that will be better off at a faster surfaced track but it is quite genuine and could make the frame against these.

7— Coiste Bodhar is my third top rated and being another that I think would be better on a faster surface which backs up my theory of how poor the race is. It can be held up or track the leaders and could have place claims.

8— Foie Gras also hasn't tried this course and distance before but also another that will probably be better off on a faster surface so not on my radar when looking for a bet in the race.

SUMMARY:A poor race. I've marked six of the eight runners down as most likely to prefer a faster surface but luckily the top rated isn't one of those six so ALPHA TAURI 14/1 has to be the selection. I think it could try to make all from its stall two draw and if getting to the front could be hard to catch but even this one's best figure isn't that great so stakes should be on the low side.

Alpha Tauri 14/1 4th
