3:00 Newmarket Winning Race Tips (3rd May) HAVANA GOLD HANDICAP (CLASS 2) (4yo+)

What a race to try and solve but even so the first thing I have to remind people of is the going, I'm writing this on Friday afternoon but there rain predicted Saturday night and Sunday morning so please check the going before having a bet. The race is quite hard to solve with twenty three runners but there are five horses that have been known to lead before but none of them have been drawn in a single figure stall, so if they split into two groups all the early pace will be on the high draw side, my joint third top rated are Shore Step drawn nineteen and Bahamian Heights drawn twenty two, my second top rated is Run With pride but its in stall four so not sure what will happen to this horse if they split to opposite sides of the course but my top rated is SWISS CROSS 50/1 who at the price has to be given as an each way bet and its unusual for a horse this low down in the handicap to have been running regularly in this grade, its last run over five furlongs indicated at a return to form when it was staying on nicely into fourth place and it really needs this sixth furlong to show its best I make him thirteen pounds better at six furlongs than five furlongs, its drawn in stall ten, with Supplicant from stall eleven being a possible front runner, so it could track this one across if they do split into two groups hopefully it goes the right side if they do split.

SUMMARY: With such a large field its hard to be too confident but I do think the selection SWISS CROSS has at least place claims so I'm putting it up as an each way bet but keep stakes low and also keep an eye on the going, I've just looked and seen there's rain forecast overnight and or tomorrow morning, so if it does rain all bets are off.

Swiss Cross 50/1 Unp
