2:55 Sandown Winning Race Tips (21st Aug) AD SPORTS COUNCIL HANDICAP (CLASS 5) (3yo+ 0-75)

Only seven runners but a very tricky looking class five race with two known front runners and I cant get it any lower than three possible winners, Swendab could try to lead but is only fourth on my figures and if PUCON 2/1 my second top rated goes to the front in does have the better times and they might burn each other out before the finish, WHITECREST 6/1 should be staying on and if Swendab wins the battle for the lead this one could catch it but maybe not quite get there if Pucon leads, the top rated is ROCKET ROB 4/1 from a time it did on its last run but there's nothing else in its times anywhere close to that and it hasn't won since 2013 so maybe its best days are behind it now its nine years old, it is a hold up type so just might prosper if the front two do too much early on and its possible to back all three to show a profit whichever wins so that's how I will be going. [No bet -Soft going]

3:40 York - Twenty runners over the minimum trip but a fantastic looking Group One race so it doesnt get any better than this and as long as the going isn't soft it should be another great race but I doubt it can live up to the thrill of the race last year when Richard Hughes on Sole Power was looking for a gap for what seemed like ages and just when you thought its chance had gone a gap appeared and it finished like the proverbial train to get to the front in time to taste victory and that race is one that will stick in my mind for the rest of my life, I couldn't really believe what I had seen it looked an impossible mission for the horse to win with all the trouble it found that day but that is the joys of racing and Sole Power is in the race again this year but last years jockey has retired and the famous Frankie Dettori is on board this time. It is obviously going to be a very competitive race again and im going to concentrate on my top three, STEPPER POINT 25/1 is my third top and also one of the likely leaders and it looks to me to be the value each way bet at the price as it finished second in this race last year, that was behind SOLE POWER 9/1 who is my second top rated here but im always a little bit wary of hold up horses in big fields so im going to be a bit conservative with my ideas and its not been in quite so good form this year. The horse that comes out top at the weights is the two year old ACAPULCO 2/1 an American trained horse thats only had two runs, one in the USA and then its second run when victorious at Ascot in a two year old Group two race, so its a natural step up in class but im not completely sure about whether its strong enough to take on these seasoned handicappers, so im going to do all three to hopefully show a profit whichever one does the business. [No bet - Soft going]

8:20 Wolverhampton - A class six race with thirteen runners and only three horses that have led before and the best of them could be Indian Affair who is my fifth top rated, Reginald Claude is my third top rated but being ridden by a five pound claiming apprentice moves it into second spot ahead of Sewn Up my original second top rated but top spot goes to DREAM ALLY 12/1 the biggest problem for this selection is the wide draw in stall ten, it usually likes to track the leaders and they are drawn in stalls three, four and nine, so im hoping my selection can follow Beauty's Forte from stall nine and get a good early position from where it can stay on strongly at the finish and at the price has to be an each way bet.

Dream Ally 12/1 3rd
