This looks like being a very fast race for its class if the going is on the firm side as from the eight runners five of them have been known to lead, the three year old Showstoppa could be a bit of a hidden danger and does like to lead but this is a good race and maybe it wont be its day today, Elusivity is well weighted and is third top on my list, CAPTAIN DUNNE 7/1 is a possible leader and my second top rated but is being ridden by a five pound claiming apprentice which moves it in top spot above my original DESERT COMMAND 7/2 and this one could be the one to benefit if they go too fast in front, so hopefully by backing both of them I will have covered the bases and make a profit whichever one wins. [No bet - Soft ground]
4:40 Newcastle - Fifteen runner in a class five race and as far as I can see only one known front runner, Exotic Guest is my fourth top rated and that came at this course and distance which could be worth a few pounds but it would need to be over eight which I don't think is feasible, third best is Kenny The Captain who's best came at Thirsk so a quite similar course but may be a bit better on a softer surface, Tango Sky is my second best from a time at Chester and may be better over further when racing on a more galloping track, top rated is MEANDMYSHADOW 10/1 from a run at Leicester, who is the one I've marked down as the most likely front runner and if it does get to the front could be hard to catch and ran well at this course four runs ago where it led till way inside the final furlong aand beaten half a length into second place and prefers the going to be more on the firm side of things but it could be a decent each way bet.
5:05 Chepstow - An interesting looking race with only the one known front runner, I've got Midnight Rider as my fourth top rated and Heartsong my third top but I think this horse might be better with some cut in the going, second top is the three year old Nortron who might be even better over further so ought to be staying on at the finish but my top rated is also the known front runner and if LITTLE PALAVER 9/2 does get to the front and with an uncontested lead could be hard to catch and it is also a three year old so it could improve further but it has had eleven runs on turf without winning but has been second twice and third five times so it doesn't look as though its incapable off winning on grass but might need good to firm ground to show its best. [No bet - Soft ground]
SUMMARY: Once again my selections are in the laps of the gods, well the weather, I hate to keep on about it but my figures are all done on good or firmer and if its soft I haven't got a clue whats what and I always err on the side of caution.
P.S. I would like to say thank you to all our viewers, it was the best month since I started 21 months ago and im still showing profits which is what its all about.
