Twelve runners in the first of three class six races today so nothing to get too excited about, Pavers Star would possibly lead if nothing else wanted to but from stall one it may try to lead today but there is two other front runners, Fine N Dandy is in stall five but im not sure if either of them are fast enough to get to the front ahead of the three year old *SPEND A PENNY 11/2 who isn't badly drawn in stall three and if it gets to the front I think it will be very hard for the others to catch it has led in its last two races and got caught but the opposition here looks such a poor lot it ought to stay there for an all the way win but it is a poor race and consistency isn't very prominent. [No bet - Soft Ground]
6:45 Wolverhampton - Thirteen runners in a class six race but doesn't look too bad for the class with four that have led before, my third top rated is Rat Catcher who can be held up or track the leaders, second top spot goes to WARM ORDER 7/2 who is one of the probable leaders and if gets to the front from stall nine it ought to run a big race, my top spot goes to DIAMONDSINTHESKY 16/1 but its still a maiden after twenty one races but has been placed a few times on the all weather but I would only consider backing this horse for a place on the Exchanges as an each way bet with the high street bookies looks like it would be throwing away the win part but those that dont use the exchanges at the price it would show a profit doing an each way bet.
7:15 Wolverhampton - Thirteen runners in quite a poor class six race and surprisingly there's only one known front runner in Ben Hall who is in stall four so should be okay for him to attempt to lead here, my top rated is HAMIS AL BIN 14/1 but its been badly out of form lately but its still capable of winning at this level but it needs a fast early pace to aim at, so the leaders are tiring as hes staying on, if its slowly run the others will have enough in reserve to ward off the challengers. The exact same thing, needs a fast pace, applies to my second top rated Seraphima but it may not get the better of the selection if the race is fast early on, REGINALD CLAUDE 6/1 is my third top rated but the more likely winner if the pace isn't too fast early on and is well berthed in stall two to get a good early position and then stay on at the finish.
SUMMARY: Not great racing or betting strength, so keep stakes low, but it will be nice to actually have a bet, thank goodness for the all weather. I write all these blogs two days in advance sometimes in hope of the ground drying out but I've said it before but please be as sure as you can be that the going doesn't have soft in its description before having a bet as all my ideas and figures are collated using good or firmer going.
