Unlucky for some, thirteen runners in a class four affair over five furlongs and five known possible leaders and I think this race could play into the hands of a finishing type because of those five front runners, Breccbannoch is best but still only my fifth top rating and the bottom weight Dreams Of Glory is being ridden by a five pound claimer which would put it into the reckoning and actually into joint top position but the stable has been out of form lately and they did try three runs ago using an apprentice to no avail so im going to omit this one from my idea of the winner even though it is one of the possible front runners, third top on my figures is Dishy Guru who recorded its best time at a similar course to this, Leicester but it might be even better over a longer distance so should be staying on strongly at the finish but just maybe a bit too late to win the race, I've actually got joint top ratings with Secret Asset but this ones best time came from Nottingham and I do think that the horse is better on a flat course so this one might not quite suit it, the other top rated is WHITECREST 20/1 and its has got a five pound claiming apprentice riding who has won for the stable before which takes it that amount clear, it does like to have something in front to aim at and hopefully it can stay on strongly at the finish and the price allows me to back it each way.
6:20 Salisbury - Eight runners again over the minimum trip and class four and four possible leaders, both Waseem Faris who is my fifth top rated and would move up to joint third if you take into consideration the fact there's a five pound claiming apprentice riding who has won on the horse on its last two runs and Vale Of Paris could lead if nothing else wanted to but there are two more natural front runners in the field Majestic Hero and Absolute Champion who is my fourth top rated. Third top spot goes to Burning Thread who is only one pound behind Royal Brave my second top rated and both of them prefer to track the leaders, my top rated is EXTRASOLAR 9/1 from a time recorded at this course and distance which always counts for something in its favour but the key to this horse winning is the ground, it needs to be good to firm or firmer for it to show its best and it does like to have a target in front of it to aim at and this race could be run to play into its strengths.
Whitecrest 20/1 8th (no luck in running)
Extrasolar 9/1 1st
