Of the 16 runners there's only 4 that have been known to lead before and my top 2 ratings are amongst them, Vimy Ridge is my 3rd best but may find this distance a bit too far if they go a fast early pace, Upavon is 2nd best and this one may prefer further so ought to be staying on at the finish and could at least make the frame, in 2nd spot I've got ANONYMOUS JOHN 20/1 but this one is drawn in stall 5 which isn't ideal here for a front runner, it did its best time last year at Chester but ran to very nearly that mark over this course and distance 2 runs ago but may need good to firm going to reproduce its best times which is the forecast conditions so fingers crossed and I think the price is so big because of the poor draw but it doesn't have to lead to win so the price makes it a value each-way bet.

Apprentice race with 9 runners and maybe only Fashionable Spirit being known to lead but it might be too far for this one unless it's allowed to set a much slower early pace, it's a poor race and only 3 have got recorded times, Dream Ally is 3rd top and Kenstone 2nd top and both like to race prominently but my top spot is RYAN STYLE 14/1 another that races near the action but it might be even better over further so this one will hope there's a good fast early pace to aim at and is being ridden by one of the better apprentice jockeys who is having his 1st ride for the stable and it looks like they are expecting a big run from it so at the price I have to go with an each-way wager.

Division 2 of this apprentices race and nothing much to write home about, 4 of them have been known to lead before but all times have been on the slow side of things but they are my top 4 ratings, joint 3rd top are Poplar and Decisive then I've got joint top with SILVER SPRINGS 10/1 and CADLAND LAD 3/1 but POPLAR 7/2 is being ridden by a claiming apprentice which makes it very very little between the top 3 and I doubt there will be much value in backing all of them but I can't split them either.
WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Silver Springs 10/1 1st, Cadland Lad 3/1 3rd, Poplar 7/2 5th
Class 4 race and a very tightly handicapped affair and apart from Waseem Faris I can't see what else will push to set the pace but this one is my joint 2nd top rated so if going to the front it could be hard to catch but it has had 12 previous runs on the all-weather tracks without winning which puts me off it, the other joint 2nd top is Red Stripes who has been out of form this year so far which leads to my top rated DYNAMO WALT 15/2 and if this one puts in it's all it could pick up the leader close home but my stakes will be kept on the low side.

There's 4 of the 12 runners that have been known to lead before, Dutch Golden Age my 4th top rated and Irish Eclare my 2nd top rated are 2 of those possible pace setters, my 3rd top rating is Florencio who did its best time in 2015 and has been way off that level this year but it could make the frame if springing back to form but top of the pops is DOMINIUM 9/1 who did its best time last year but this will be its 1st run of this year at this course and if reproducing its best could get back to winning ways here
