1:20 Newcastle Winning Racing Tips (30th Dec) BETWAY SPRINT HANDICAP (CLASS 3) (3yo+ 0-95)

Newcastle, horse racing, racing tips,
AMAZOUR won over course and distance 5 runs ago in a higher class race than this but the time wasn't real fast and all things point to it wanting a slower surface or a longer trip to show its absolute best, so it's a question of class or times which prove the deciding factor but as usual I'll stick with times.

POYLE VINNIE hasn't run on this surface and distance since 2014 and its best then wouldn't be good enough to win and this horse looks much better over a shorter distance so I'm of the opinion this is a possible lay bet if the price permits.

OUTRAGE hasn't run over this distance on this surface before but everything points to it finding this distance a bit too far for it and much better over 5 furlongs so another on my list of possible lays price permitting.

KING ROBERT only 3year old in the race who won its maiden and was then raised in class till racing in Group company but didn't do too well but I think the soft ground was probably against it and in this class must have a decent chance.

RELATED has only had 1 run on this surface so could improve for the experience and is my highest rating for its time on grass so definitely cannot be discarded from the list of potential winners of this race.

INTIBAAH is versatile with its running style but I'm thinking it might be better off on a slower surface than this one as its times from both here and Wolverhampton are mediocre and I doubt it can win this race.

CAPTAIN DION has never run on this surface before but it has won on soft going on grass and at Chelmsford, so it could easily take to this surface then add on the fact that its the other known possible pace setter it could go well but I couldn't lay it or back it in this race.

TATLISU only 1 run on any all-weather surface which produced a relatively slow time over this course and distance add on the fact that the horse hasn't been in the best of form and looks maybe to need a slower surface to show its best I doubt it can win this race but never say never.

HANDSOME DUDE ran well when just finishing behind King Robert here before and isn't weighted to reverse the placings but is 1 of only 2 known front-runners in the race.

RICH AGAIN is a hold up type who has recorded a decent time over course and distance but has only had 1 run over it this year which was a slow run affair and it didn't catch the leader and I'm of the opinion this class 3 race is outside of its capabilities to win but could possibly make the frame.

EL VIENTO only recorded a relatively slow time in 2015 and has had only 1 run over the distance on this surface this year which was a poor effort after missing the start but looks vulnerable against these here and I doubt it can be competitive.

SUMMARY: Amazour is the class horse and dropped here but timewise its not quite good enough and maybe this isn't the ideal conditions for it, both Handsome Dude and Captain Dion could be dangerous if they get an easy lead but I'm sticking with the fastest horse in the race in the shape of KING ROBERT 9/2 who holds Handsome Dude on a previous race's form and seemed to improve further with a cracking run when slightly unlucky at Wolverhampton and has every chance here to sit just behind the leaders which is its usual style and then stay on the stronger at the finish.

King Robert 9/2 7th
