Calypso Choir may find this distance a bit too short so should be staying on at the finish but I doubt it will get there fast enough. Come On Dave one of the 7 known to lead before, comes out 2nd top on course and distance times and on times on this surface elsewhere, so good place claims. PEARL ACCLAIM usually races prominently but stall 12 isn't gonna help its cause here but is top rated on times recorded here so if things go right could win Shackled n Drawn can be held up or track the leaders could get squeezed out in stall 8 and its best time isn't in my top 6 so not for me here. Waneen another known to lead but maybe not here from stall 5 and its previous best isn't enough to make my top 5 so doubtful it can win this. Zipedeedodah comes out 3rd best on both sets of times and being a front runner stall 1 is perfect and if getting to the front could at least make the frame and is in good form, going for a hat-trick Krystallite has stall 2 and is my 4th best on times recorded here but not sure it can win the battle for control of the rails Monumental Man is 5th best on course times but stall 7 for a front runner in this race doesn't look good and not for me in this race. Vimy Ridge can be held up or track the leaders and from stall 3 it could get to the rails about a length behind the leaders from which to attack and is top rated on surface times from elsewhere. Higher Court hasn't been in good form since racing in this country has been known to lead but looks very likely to struggle from stall 11 and not one I could fancy. Nocturn hasn't any form at this distance on this surface and 0-5 on all-weather races, turf times would say it could make the frame but I doubt it can win this. Captain Lars has been known to lead which I doubt it can here, stall 6 isn't ideal and it may be better running over further.
SUMMARY: A very nicely competitive class 4 race, with 7 of the 12 runners having led before it could be a real battle to get an early position, I've highlighted the 4 that I think have a chance of taking the spoils, I'm a little dubious of whether Come On Dave can reproduce its best from stall 9 and may be taken wide on the bends, Zipedeedodah could lead on the rails and has been in great form winning the last twice but they were at Wolverhampton and the stable is using a claiming apprentice to try and offset its rise in the handicap but I'm of the opinion this might be a step too far until I look at the other pluses and minuses, Vimy Ridge hasn't won since the summer of 2015 after 24 runs and I big drop in its rating so a revival would see it with a great chance, PEARL ACCLAIM 15/2 is top rated on course times but the draw has been unkind but it's not a front running type so could be held up and tucked in behind the field and hope for the gaps to appear as the finishing line looms and its 2nd place finish last time out shows it's coming into form, it is a tough race and I have to hope the selection gets the breaks at the right time but hey that's what racing's all about.
