12:15 Southwell Winning Racing Tips (10th Jan) BETWAY SPRINT HANDICAP (Div I) (CLASS 5) (4yo+ 0-75)

(Division I) Of the 10 runners in this 1st division there's only 3 that have done a recordable time and only 2 known as front running sorts, Tick The Boxes is joint 2nd top rated and can be held up or track the leaders it's being ridden here by a 3lb claiming apprentice which moves it into clear 2nd best position, Desert Strike is the other original joint 2nd top rated and is 1 of the 2 that's known to lead but stall 10 isn't going to help its cause here, top spot is VROOM 4/1 who is the other front runner so stall 3 may be enough for it to break smartly and get control on the rails and then attempt to lead all the way to the line, it's also being ridden by a 7lb claiming apprentice who has had just 3 rides for the stable and has won a race so it must have a decent chance here to get back to winning ways.

12:45 Southwell - A class 6 poor race with 14 runners but only 4 of them have done a fast enough time to register on my figures with 6 possible pace setters it should be a true run race, there is 3 that could be hidden dangers but I will stick with what's proven, I've got joint 2nd top rated horses with Charlie Lad and Pancake Day but my top-rated has got a few spots in hand if reproducing its best and it's also one of the possible leaders, so if BAPAK BANGSAWAN 16/1 gets to the front it could prove very hard to catch and I think the jockey booking is a positive in this apprentices race so at the price I have to say its worth a small each-way wager.

Bapak Bangsawan 16/1 5th

2:40 Wolverhampton - I have a feeling that the selection for this race will be the favourite so I'm hoping there's some meat on the bone because there are what could be hidden dangers so any stakes will be kept on the low side. Doeadeer is a possible front runner and recorded an ok time at Newcastle over this distance as did Savannah Beau, so they both could be potentially a problem but the selection has improved on its last 2 runs over this course and distance and winning both times in a good time for the class and hopefully from stall 4 he can follow the horse on its inside across to the rails and get a good position from which to stay on the stronger at the finish and I think 5/2 is just about big enough to put the selection COQUINE in a multi bet and if drifting it could become value enough to back as a single.

Coquine 5/2 3rd

3:20 Southwell - This is a poor strange race and I'm not sure whether to put forward a selection or not but the make-up of the race just might work to the advantage of the “maybe” selection but stakes will be kept low, of the 13 runners there's only 1 known front-runner and only 4 runners have got a speed figure, Big Amigo is my 4th top and won last time out over course and distance but the 6lb rise in the weights means it's gone up from 60 to 65 handicaps and it may struggle, Tavener is 3rd top but may prefer a faster surface, Treaty Of Rome is my 2nd top rated and should be staying on at the finish as it looks like further will suit it even better but top spot is also the front runner SPOWARTICUS 20/1 who luckily has also got stall 1, the downside is that it's been leading before recently and then fading but last time although finishing 6th it was beaten less than 3 lengths which hopefully is a pointer to it coming back into form, the betting will decide whether it becomes a bet or not but if an each way price then I will be placing a small bet. (I've left my thoughts pre-betting to show my workings) at the price it is worth a small each way wager at the price and hope it at least holds on for a place but could win if at its best.

Spowarticus 20/1 4th

3:50 Southwell (Division II) There's only 9 runners in this 2nd division and the poorer division, I've only got Nora Batt marked down as being a possible pace setter so could therefore be dangerous and it has only just turned 4 years old, I've only got 1 horse with a recorded time and fittingly that's the top weighted AMONG ANGELS 14/1 who is usually a hold up type and I've marked it down as either wanting a shorter trip it has been a possible danger at this trip when there's not going to be a fast early pace and this just might be the chance 'been waiting for and this race certainly won't take much winning and to aid their cause they have employed a good 3lb claiming apprentice but once again stakes will be kept low mainly because of the possible dangers but it might be worth a small each way wager at the odds available.

Among Angels 14/1 2nd
