A field of 12 runners with 3 having been known to lead before, Silver Springs is one of that 3 and has the best draw in stall 2 but only produced a slow time over this course and distance, Desert Strike has got the worst of the draw for trying to lead but is 2nd best on course times and top rated using Kempton times, Compton Prince comes out 3rd best on course times but top on Chelmsford times but may need some luck in the early stages to get a good position from which to attack later in the race, the selection is the top weight FUJIN 11/2 who comes out in top spot on course times and 2nd best using Chelmsford times and it's also the 3rd possible pace setter and from stall 7 it ought to be able at least to get a good position if not leading or sharing the lead and then stay on the stronger at the finish and follow up from its win last time out and its being ridden by the same 5lb claiming apprentice which helps its cause even more.

A class 7 race with 12 runners and just 2 that have been known to lead, Nefetari could be dangerous if it gets to the front and finds some improvement but I doubt if it can lead with the topweight Whaleweigh Station being the other possible pace setter and this one showed it was in form by winning last time out here but over an extra furlong and this drop in trip will suit it even more if it can lead all the way but I've still got NATIONAL SERVICE 16/1 as my top rated and the last time this horse raced on this surface it finished 3rd in a class 5 affair so I'm hoping this return to this surface will spark it back into life but it did run today (Friday) where it faded nearing the finish and if brought out here it may be a positive and the horse may have needed the run to get fit which it did in February last year and I'm hoping that's the plan again now.
