4:05 Chelmsford Racing Tips (8th February) WINNER.CO.UK ACCA CLUB HANDICAP (CLASS 4) (4yo+ 0-85)

Chelmsford, horse racing,
A poor turnout of 7 runners in this class 4 race and 4 of them have been known to lead before I've got Silvanus a front-running type and Top Boy who can track the leaders or be held up as my joint 3rd top rated horses on times from this course, Saved My Bacon is in 2nd position on course and distance times and this doesn't lead either whilst Dynamo Walt is top rated and is the 3rd of the 3 that don't usually front run and would normally be the selection but I've got SANDFRANKSKIPSGO 12/1 as my top rated on times recorded at both Lingfield and Kempton which have this same surface and this 1 is another that could try to lead but this will be its debut at this course and if taking to it ought to have every chance of getting back to winning ways, now lets delve a little deeper, its 1st win of both 2014 and 2016 was in February and both also its 2nd run of the year and that's the case here, in 2015 the horse didn't run until March and after a 5 month or more break, if we then add on the jockey booking, George Baker, who has ridden 14 older horses from this stable winning 4 of them which is another pointer to connections expecting a big run in this race and its a shame there's only 2 places with 7 runners as its a decent each way chance price but I'm never keen on going each way with 2 places so I will go with win bet.

A poor class 7 race with 10 entrants and 3 that have been known to lead before and that's where I'm going to start, RED FLUTE 10/1 is the best of the front runners and it's got stall 1 so I expect this one to try and lead all the way it starts off as my joint 3rd top rated on course times but moves to 2nd position by using a 3lb claiming apprentice who has won for the stable before, Lizzy's Dream is the other 3rd top rated but may need further to show its best. PRESTO BOY 16/1 starts off as my 2nd top rated but this time there's a 7lb claiming jockey which moves it 3lbs ahead of my original top rated, and the jockey has won twice from 11 rides for the stable, Willow Springwho always looks as though further would suit it better and this could be a fast run race and play into its hands. I'm not really confident enough to get it down to 1 selection, Red Flute who I think will lead from stall 1 comes from the D.Quinn stable but they stable also has Willow Spring in the race drawn in stall 5 and just on the inside of the horse I think is their biggest danger so maybe out to spoil the chances of Presto Boy butI do think the latter will win if there's no trickery from others in the race, just think I've got to cover both angles and back them both each way at the prices as I do fancy my top rated if it gets a clear run but if not the other selection could pinch the race from the front.
