2:00 Southwell Racing Tips (29th March) Sprint Handicap (Class 5) (4yo+)

racing tips - eric winner
This 11 runner race has just 1 horse that's known to lead, I've got 3 marked down as having negatives against their name and that's before I look at the trainer-jockey statistics, I've got Monsieur Jimmy as my 4th top rated but this one needs a fast early pace so they are fading and it stays on, Fortinbrass is 3rd top and this one will like a slow early pace as this trip saps its stamina nearing the finish, Silver Bid is my 2nd top rated and has the coveted stall 1 and as it usually races prominently and did attempt to lead last time out but that was July 1st last year so may need this run for fitness and it is still a maiden after 7 runs, in top spot I've got HARWOOD'S STAR 14/1 and this one's trainer, John Butler, has had 12 wins from 61 runners at this course so that's a positive and hopefully it's enough to see it back into winning ways but it's a big enough price for me to go with backing it each way at the price.

Only 8 runners with a couple of known pace setters, Powerful Wind who is one of them hasn't any recent course form to work with but has done a fast time at Kempton which if transferred to here would put it into 2nd top spot and it has stall 1 but in a small field like this that's not as important as in some races, Mossgo my 3rd top rated is the other possible front runner and it's in stall 4, Temple Road who usually finishes fast at this distance and is my 2nd top rated and from stall 7 as long as it's not made to run too wide should be staying on but my top rated is TAAJUB 7/1 who from stall 2 should be able to get onto the rails just behind the 2 front runners and then be able to be the 1st horse to attack the leaders and then stay on strongly for the win.

Another 8 runner race but only Escalating known as a front runner but it hasn't got any recent surface form and its best time from 2015 would only make it 5th best so it looks most likely to set it up for something finishing from the back, Steelriver and Bouclier my 4th and 3rd top ratings both look to want further to show their best so should be staying on if the early pace is fast enough, Swiss Cross is my 2nd top rated and this ones form is quite inconsistent but is weighted to reverse form with Bouclier who beat it last time out over this course and distance, my top rated is the top weighted PRETTY BUBBLES 4/1 who has finished 2nd on both of its last 2 starts and although well beaten by 4 lengths in its course and distance race 2 runs ago that was a fast run race and a repeat of that time would be good enough to win this race.
