2:10 Southwell Racing Tips (4th April) Handicap (Class 5) (3yo+)

Eric Winner
Not a great class 5 race and there's no known front running types in the field of 8 runners but I'm hoping something sets a decent early pace as my top 2 are both usually hold up types, Specialv from stall 1 may prefer a longer trip so would be happy from stall 1 to get control in front on the rails and then force to the pace to outstay the field and the same could be said for Treaty Of Rome who won last time out over course and distance and had 2 runs prior to this trip with another win and 2nd place, so is in good form, Big Amigo is my 2nd top rated and it also won last time out over this course and distance but my top rated is CROSSE FIRE 11/2 is usually a hold up type but did prove when it won 2 runs ago over this course and distance it can go from the front and that day recorded a time good enough to win this race but it does have stall 5 compared to stall 1 that day but if allowed to set the pace it ought to prove very hard to catch.

Another 8 runner race and only 1 known front runner in the shape of Annie Salts who has good trainer and jockey statistics so could attempt to lead all the way but I'm not 100% sure this surface will suit it as it is horses 1st run on this surface but I wouldn't put anyone off from backing the horse but it's not for me as I'll stick with the proven, I've got joint 2nd top rated, Jacobs Pillow has a 1-22 record for the trainer at this course and it broke the trainers duck when winning over course and distance last time out, Borough Boy is the other 2nd top rated and ran quite poorly at Chelmsford on Saturday evening at Chelmsford but if running here they must be expecting it to redeem itself from that run and the trainer and jockeys statistics look good again but top rated is Dusty Blue but this ones trainer is 0-9 at this course and its the jockeys 1st ride for the stable and I'm struggling to separate all of my top 3 and I'm hoping the betting will shed some light on the race and I will perhaps only bet if there's any value in a horse. (they are the 1st 3 in the betting, 11/4—7/2—9/2, in racecard number, it is possible to back all 3 and make a profit but I will personally wait to see what happens with the betting before making a final decision).
