3:00 Newmarket Racing Tips (20th April) Connaught Access Flooring Abernant Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo+)

Newmarket racecourse
A Group 3 sprint with £34k up for grabs but only 7 entries which are poor, of the 7 I've got 3 that may like to lead and the others can either track the leaders or be held up, Kassia is my 3rd top rated but may need this run and also looks better over a shorter trip so may just struggle, 2nd spot goes to Ornate who could try to set the pace but another that may need the run for fitness but top spot goes to BRANDO 6/4 and this one has been known to win after a break so looks the safest bet.

Brando 6/4 1st
3:25 Ripon -
With 15 runners and a 3rd of them having led before it could be a fast run race, I've got negatives against 6 runners, Eastern Racer is my 5th top rated and a possible pacesetter in stall 6, Honeysuckle Lil doesn't find this surface ideal but still comes out 4th best and that's the same scenario for my 3rd op rated Magical Effect, in 2nd spot I've got STRAIGHTOTHEPOINT 8/1 who is in stall 1 and usually likes to race prominently while in top spot I've got BEST TRIP 33/1 a possible pacesetter and drawn in stall 14 it has won before after a break so that won't put me off, so I'm going with backing one drawn high and one drawn low and then a front-running sort and another that can come from off the pace and hope I've the winner whichever way the race pans out and just hope the going is ok, if pushed to narrow it down to one selection it would be with the latter to hopefully dominate from the front and at least hold on for a place and I will be having 2 each way bets.

Straightothepoint 8/1 2nd
Best Trip 33/1 Unp

5:50 Lingfield -
Only 5 runners in this poor class 6 claiming race, I've got negatives against for 4 of the runners and it leaves me with just my top rated which is BUSH WARRIOR 11/8 who can deploy various styles of racing and includes leading and from stall 1 it may get out and lead all the way and it's also the horse with the highest official rating at the weights so I'm expecting a skinny price but I might be surprised as nothing has been running that well lately but I'm going with the combination of class and speed.

Bush Warrior 11/8 2nd

6:05 Ripon -
With just 7 runners this apprentice jockey race isn't ideal but at least there's a possible front runner in General Alexander who may not find this surface to its liking, Seamster is 3rd best and I've got DESERT ACE 5/1 as my 2nd top rated but the 8lb claiming apprentice moves it above my original top rated FOXTROT KNIGHT 7/1 who has only got a 3lb claiming apprentice and I will be going with backing them both to show a profit whichever one wins but in an apprentice race my stakes are usually kept low.

Foxtrot Knight 7/1 1st
Desert Ace 5/1 4th
7:20 Lingfield -
An 8 runner race with 3 that have been known to lead before, I've got negatives against 4 of the field and only the top 3 in the handicap have done a recorded fast enough time, Hackney Road has won both of its races but both in relatively slow times but could be open to improvement and I expect it will be favourite which will help the prices on the others, Diamond Lady is my 3rd top rated but may need this run for fitness but could still make the frame, 2nd top is the top weight Rosealee but this one may be better over a shorter trip but still could make the frame but top spot is VERY HONEST 16/1 and this one is a possible front runner and it did its best time this year so hopefully it can lead all the way and at the price I will be having an each-way wager.

Very Honest 16/1 3rd
