This is a nice looking 12 runner race with 5 that have led before, John Joiner, only if nothing else wants to but is my 4th top rated, Give Us A Belle but this one is not ben running well on grass for a while now, Zac Brown who isn't in my top 6 ratings and Casterbridge who might not like the going if its good to firm, yes your right I've missed one out, I've got joint 2nd top rated horses with Classic Pursuit who usually stays on strongly at the finish over this distance and may really need further and Classic Flyer who can track the leaders or be held up, my top rated is, of course, the 5th and final known front runner and with the bias at this course favouring those drawn high it looks good for my selection MAJOR VALENTINE 4/1 who has got stall 12, also the trainer is 1-3 here and the apprentice jockey is 2-5 so it points to connections going for their 4th win in a row.

I've got a problem in this field of 9 as to who will set the pace, there's no front runners in the race and if it becomes a 2 furlong dash then anything could win but that rarely happens, I've the feeling that Mobsta from stall 8 might be the one that takes on the pace-setting role and if doing so I think it will take a lot of catching as it's my 2nd top rated and it might be even better over further, if it does set a good early pace it could also suit my top rated ORIONS BOW 7/1 but with the make-up of this race my stakes will be kept to the low side of things.

I would normally be very wary in a race with 17 runners, I've omitted a couple of sprints today because of them having really big fields, but I'm hoping I've found the winning angle, a bit surprisingly there's only 2 that are known as front running sorts in Pearl Noir from stall 3 and the more favourably drawn Novabridge in stall 14 but this latter one might want some cut in the going to show its best, Thornaby Princess is my 3rd top rated and is usually staying on at the finish and further might prove more beneficial, my 2nd top rated is See Vermont and this one needs the ground to be at least good to firm to show its best but the trainer is 1-25 here so that doesn't inspire confidence, in top spot is GROUNDWORKER 11/1 housed in stall 9 it could cover a move from either side of the course, this one had a 4 month break from racing and then 2 runs on the all-weather for fitness and then last time out it finished 7th at Pontefract beaten just over 4 lengths but it wasn't pushed once its chance had gone that day and it was a fast run race so hopefully it's a bit fitter now and can come home the strongest of them all.
