OK folks I tried the last few days to try and analyse a race when the going was soft but I just can't rate how good or bad a piece of form is as I've got nothing to rate it against I have found plenty of horses that can't win a race so some lays will be posted on my sister page when the goings soft, so the experiment is at an end and I will go back to mainly betting when the going is good or firmer, there may be the odd exception, so let's hope for a dry summer.
So please CHECK THE GOING BEFORE BETTING.
Only 8 runners but only 2 that have been known as front running types but both usually only do so if nothing else wants to lead, I'm not quite sure how good Merdon Castle is but hasn't shown enough as of yet to make me think it can win this race whilst Market Choice is my 3rd top rated so could be the one to catch, Mr Orange is my 2nd top and is usually held up for a late challenge but YEEOOW 6/1 is my top rated and this isn't the 1st time its come out top of my figures and usually just as I'm thinking it can't reproduce its best again it pops up to prove me wrong so I will be going with having a bet but keeping the stakes fairly low.
Yeeoow 6/1 5th
There's 11 runners and 5 that have been known to lead before, Lexington Place is a possible front runner and my 4th top rated and has got stall 3, I've got joint 2nd top rated and Lydia's Place who is one of them is also a possible pacesetter and has got the prime draw in stall 1 so could get control of the rails and then prove hard to catch for most of these, Midnight Malibu who finished 2nd last time out is the other joint 2nd top rated and usually races prominently just behind the leaders and is from the in-form Tim Easterby stable and my top rated is EXCESSABLE 7/2 also from the Tim Easterby stable and also races prominently and this one won last time out and has a chance here to follow up that win.
Excessable 9/2 1st
This looks a nice listed class race and I'm hoping the going is good and then I will be quietly confident about the selection, Intisaab is 4th top just 1lb below Mr Lupton in 3rd spot and could have to battle between themselves to make the frame, I've got Raucous in 2nd spot and this one needs good to firm ground to show its best but my top rated is DANCING STAR 9/2 who maybe isn't as effective on good to firm but if it's genuinely good ground then as this is the only known front-runner in the race it could lead all the way and the jockey booking looks a positive as he's got a 21% win rate for this stable which is in good form of late. The going has the word soft in its description and if so then I won't be betting but luckily I can watch an earlier race to check for myself before placing a bet.
