4:55 Catterick Racing Tips (2nd June) Handicap (Class 4) (4yo+ 0-85)

The Wow Signal
With a field of 9 runners I've got negatives against 6 of them which narrows the race down quite quickly, the bottom weight Racquet is my 3rd top rated and can be held up or track the leaders but its time was recorded in an easier race than this but could make the frame, Coiste Bodhar is my 2nd top rated and the one I think will try to set the pace but 6 furlongs seems to push its stamina to the limit in a fast run race so it could be dangerous if allowed to set a slightly slower early pace but I'm hoping it sets it up for SEAMSTER 13/2 who usually tracks the leaders and the trainer is 2-10 at this course and the jockey is 6-24 for this stable which points to them expecting a big run here.

There's 10 runners over 5 furlongs 160yards which is hard to work out at times but hopefully not in this race, I've got 3 horses marked down as possible leaders, my 3rd top rated Swendab and my 2nd top rated Go Amber Go are 2 that ought to vie for the lead and make it hard to most to catch them but my top rated is TRICK OF THE LIGHT 7/2 who is still only a 3 year old so could improve even more yet and to help their cause they have employed a good 7lb claiming apprentice to take the ride, the trainer, Roger Varian has a 21% win rate at this course looking at all ages but has a 33% win rate with his 3-year-olds so the omens look good.

The betting will be the final factor in this race as if there's no value I won't be betting, Jersey Breeze looks a versatile type and could be the fly in the ointment in this race which means any stakes will be kept low, top weighted Southern Belle is my 3rd top rated and usually races prominently in 2nd top spot I've got ISEEMIST 4/1 who could be the most likely pacesetter in this race and if getting an easy lead could steal the race from the front but my top rated is Belledesert but that's over Bath's shorter distance than this so is vulnerable at this distance if they go a strong pace and its figure isn't as good over a proper 6 furlong distance so I'm going with the selection leading all the way.

Half of the 8 runners have been known to lead and they are all my top 4 ratings as well, Edged Out is 4th top from stall 2, Our Lord is 3rd top from stall 5, Quantum Dot is 2nd top from stall 4 which leaves my top rated horse MAJOR VALENTINE 3/1 who is coming out of stall 8, any bias is for those drawn high but I'm not sure how much that counts for in such a small field but I'm hoping it can lead all the way here and record another win this year.

Major Valentine 3/1 1st
