1:45 Lingfield (22nd February) Free Racing Tips

A competitive 6f Listed-class sprint. Three horses have been known to lead: Ballista, Bravo Echo and Iptisam. However, I doubt any can win from the front. The best of them, Ballista, only comes out fifth on my figures. In December, Tarooq, Hawkeyethenoo, Hoof It, Forest Edge and Ballista competed in the same race over course and distance. At the weights Tarooq should come
out on top but hasn't run since. Ballista may try to get the lead but stall five makes life difficult. It's possible Tarooq may need the run after this absence. Rivellino won two weeks ago and next best on form.. I'm afraid my idea is to sit back, watch and enjoy. It's too open for me to make a wager. If pushed, it would have to be a small bet on Tarooq each way.

2.15 Lingfield -  the only known front runner in this race is Parisian Pyramid. Stall three may tempt them to try and lead all the way. This son of Verglas is quite capable of doing enough to hold on for a place. He comes out fifth on my figures but its very tight between third and fifth. I tipped Multitask last time out, but this four year old didn't get a clear run and I'm hoping he gets things his way today, staying-on to win. Currently priced at 8/1, this makes a reasonable each way bet.  Random Success is an improving sort and has won his last two races. The last win over course and distance didn't achieve a very good time. He's been raised another seven pounds so needs to improve again to win. I'm of the opinion 5f suits the horse better, so I would lay to small stakes.

5.10 Lingfield - Royal Bajan or We'll Deal Again are likely to set the pace. If the latter can reproduce its Leicester form, it could lead all the way. However, Michael Easterby's horse lost his form and not been seen for nearly one year. Fratellino is my idea of an each way bet at 9/1. This chestnut son of Auction House could win this race easily if hitting form but hasn't been sparkling of late. This might be a ploy by the connections as they were running at at Southwell, which wouldn't suit. McCabe's seven year old might spring back to form at this favourite haunt. (E.R.I.C.)
