8:35 Newmarket Racing Tip (15th May) REDBOURN ENGINEERING LTD HANDICAP (CLASS 4) (4yo+ 0-85)

Foxy Forever may need the run after being off course for 293 days. It has won after being off for a period of time so can't say it will definitely need the race. It did well over five and a half furlongs on its only run last season so could be a possible danger.

Asian Trader also may need the run after an absence of 321 days. It's usually held up or can track the leaders and comes out third on my figures.

Port Alfred is also either a hold up or track leaders type and is my joint fifth rated but may not catch the pace setters.

Silvanus likes to track the early pace but only comes out seventh on my figures so maybe not quite good enough to make itself seen here.

Breccbannach can track the leaders and has been known to lead and is the other joint fifth rated so could be prominent here.

Cincinnati Kid is either held up or tracks the leaders and comes out fourth on my figures so could possibly sneak into the frame.

Threes Grand has only produced slow times over this distance on firm-ish going and would most likely prefer another furlong and also may need the run after having 156 days off.

Rebecca Romero is a hold up type and is my second top rated so I expect it to be staying on at the end of the race.

MONUMENTAL LAD is my idea of the pace setter here and with Adam Kirby in the saddle this time I expect it to try to lead all the way. It is priced at 20/1 so I'm hoping it's a nice each way bet.

Sir Pedro is usually held up but may find this trip on the short side and I doubt it will be involved in the finish.

Green Monkey improved towards the end of last season as a three year old but its times were never that good and like quite a few in this race either likes to track the leaders or be held up. It could be capable of improving again but it's not for me.

Angel Way may need the run after 236 days off course. It may also prefer another furlong because its times at this distance are quite slow.

SUMMARY: With only two known front runners MONUMENTAL LAD could set the pace and have something left at the finish.

Brilliant - Monumental Man 1ST 20/1
