Eight runners but only Roy's Legacy has been known to lead. Shaun Harris' bay horse is my second top rated so the pace will hopefully be fast, which should suit the selection TEMPLE ROAD at odds of 2/1. I'm always dubious about backing favourites or even short-priced horses, they seem destined to be beaten and save the bookies. However, I don't sway from my top-rated horses but wouldn't put anyone off backing Roy's Legacy who could gain an uncontested lead. He may pinch this race from the front.

5:40 Wolverhampton - Thirteen runners. This time four horses have been known to lead but none of the quartet make my top three ratings. Third top is Rat Catcher, who is well weighted on its best form and the claiming apprentice helps its rating. It has a good draw in stall one as long as it makes it work. We actually have joint top rated with Qatar Princess 8/1 but I'm siding with SPRAY TAN 7/1. It might be worthwhile backing both to show a profit whichever wins.

SUMMARY: 3:50 Lingfield - TEMPLE ROAD 2/1 ought to win but at the price I wouldn't be betting very heavily. It's just not really any value. Roy's Legacy 6/1 could gain an easy lead and must be worth a cover bet, thus showing a profit whichever horse wins. 5:40 Wolverhampton - If pushed I'd go with SPRAY TAN 7/1 but I would cover the bet with QATAR PRINCESS 8/1 to show a profit on both horses if proving victorious.

Temple Road 5/4 1st DH
Spray Tan 9/2 Unp
