Eric's Weekly Round Up: Mazzini 7/1

Thursday, 9 June 2016

(FREEBIE) - With seventeen runners its going to be a hard race to call and the class five horses are not always consistent on turf, I know it's a six-furlong race but there's only Swendad in the field known as what I call a natural front running type but this one invariably fades inside the final furlong and stall one may not help its cause in this race but with its jockey claiming five pounds it comes out joint sixth top rated and there are only four pounds between it then and my second top rated, Babyfact is my joint fourth top rated but that's from times recorded in class six races and struggles to win in class five, the other is Indian Affair who did its time this year to prove its fitness, the old timer Noverre To Go is my third top rated but hasn't been running well lately and even if coming back to form might not be enough to win the race but could make the frame, second top is the top weighted GLASTONBERRY 7/1 who is being ridden by a five pond claiming apprentice which should enhance its chances in the race and spent most of last year running in class four and three races and ran quite well when third on its first run of the year on grass, top spot goes to VERUS DELICI 16/1 who recorded its best time at Leicester last year, it had its first run of the year on the all-weather three weeks ago and if that blew away the cobwebs after a five-month break it has to have a chance in this race, it usually likes to track the leaders and from stall eight it can go either side if there looks to be an advantage. I will be looking to back them both to show a profit whichever one does its best.

Lovely 16/1 winner today - Eric is hitting form
