2:50 Lingfield - Pearl Acclaim 10/1 (24th May)

Pearl Acclaim to win
LINGFIELD 2.15

Quite a few of these have question marks against their names and I've only got 2 with recorded speed figures which doesn't mean much in this race where i cant find the pace setter/s which scuppers the running style of my top rated Whitecrest 14/1 who likes a fast pace to aim at, the other with a figure is Roy's Dream 8/1 but its such a strange race its probably best left alone in big betting terms but as long as there's no non runners in the race so you get paid 3 places I will go with 2 each way bets.

LINGFIELD 2.50

Entertaining Ben is 3rd top and the only known front runner in the race so could be dangerous if setting its own pace but the trainer is 0-3 here and the jockey 0-22 for this stable which is a bit off-putting, Berryessa is my 2nd top and has a positive jockey booking but if the going is good to firm then i hope PEARL ACCLAIM 10/1 can finish fast to win the race, the trainer is 3-12 at this course but the jockey is 0-7 for this stable but I will have to go with backing the fastest horse in the race as always and in this case with an each way bet.

CATTERICK 5.20

What a dire race, I'm not sure what to expect from Little Miss Lola as its 1 of only 2 that have been known to lead and has a fastish time on the all-weather, Culloden would have a chance if the going isn't too fast, Thornaby Princess would have a chance on 2016 times but may need either a longer trip or a very fast pace to aim at so this might not be run to suit it, COMPTON RIVER 6/1 is top weight and top rated and the most natural front runner in the field and if allowed to set the pace its capable of leading all the way in this race, the trainer has a decent 16% win rate in apprentice races although the apprentice riding is 0-11 for this stable, if given the instructions to go from the front from the off he could break his duck but as in most of these races i will be keeping my stakes on the lowish side.

Compton River 8/1 5th

CHELMSFORD 5.40

A pretty poor race but plenty of early pace and I think it will be won from the front with Lady Joanna Vassa, who recorded a decent time at Kempton on this surface but only a slow time here which puts me off as does its stall 9 draw, Celerity who isn't a front running type did a good time at Wolverhampton but is a 39 run maiden which puts me off its chances, SWENDAB 16/1 is 2nd top rated and a front runner in stall 3 and I will back it each way, while top rated HURRICANE ALERT 7/1 is a more versatile type it can lead and has stall 2 but Waneen in stall 1 is also a front runner, but i think it will sit on the rail about a length off the front ready to pounce late on but the trainers 0-20 record here doesn't inspire any confidence but i will go with 2 small bets but maybe tilted in favour of the top rated horse.
