3:35 Goodwood Racing Tip (3rd August)

Goodwood Racing
GOODWOOD 3.35 (7.3)

WOW WOW WOW what a cracking Group 2 affair, 11 runners and 5 of them are 3 year olds who could still be capable of improving and they would need to improve to win this race if the elders run to form I will put up BATTASH 11/10 and MUTHMIR 18/1 as my selections, the former could be up with the pace right from the off while the latter likes to come with a late run so hopefully I've got both angles covered.

Battash 11/10 1st
Muthmir 18/1 3rd

THIRSK 5.35 (7.9)

I've got Alfies Angel as my 3rd top rated and its one of two that like to lead so it should be a true run race,in 2nd spot I've got Letmestopyouthere who usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on at the finish which is the same tactics usually deployed by *SPIRIT OF WEDZA 5/1 being an apprentice jockeys race my stakes will be kept on the low side.

* NR

A nice class 4 race with 8 runners, Outrage and Justice Lady have been way out of form recently and I would look to them, both Secretfact and Island Of Life haven't any form on this surface but both have times on grass that could make them dangerous if taking to this surface, Red Stripes is a few pounds out of the handicap and they are using a 7lb claiming jockey who is 0-6 for the stable, Krystallite is capable of producing a fast time in lower class races but usually struggles to win at this level but could possibly make the frame, Normal Equilibrium would need to improve a couple of pounds to win this race but does have stall 1 in its favour, my selection is CAPTAIN LARS 4/1 who usually likes to track the leaders ready to pounce in the latter stages, the trainer has a 31% win rate at this course and the jockey has a 23% win ratio for this stables older horses, so everything looks in place for them to get back to winning ways here.

Captain Lars 9/2 2nd

Last race of the night on this course and just 8 runners and only one natural front running type in the race and that's the 3 year old MR WAGYU 5/2 and if the going is good to firm or faster it might take some catching but I do have ENGLISHMAN 7/1 with a faster time and to cover the angles I will go with backing them both.

Englishman 7/1 2nd
Mr Wagyu 5/2 3rd

I've got Griffin Street as my 3rd top rated but has a 0-15 record, if Pearl Acclaims time from Catterick in 2017 is to believed it would win this race but I'm fairly sure now that the time was a bit of a fluke, could have had a tailwind or very fast going, the top weight PEA SHOOTER 13/2 is the horse I think will lead in this race and if getting an easy lead it could prove hard to catch but I do have DUNDUNAH 6/1 with a higher rating and will need a clear run to catch the pacesetter and for that reason i will go with backing them both to cover the angles

Pea Shooter 13/2 1st
Dundunah 6/1 5th
