1:30 Southwell Racing Tips (18th December)

Eric Winner Racing Tips

Of the 13 runners in this race I would look to lay 7 of them if the prices were right, 1 I'm a bit unsure of what to expect, then 2 that could run ok but would need others to falter for them to make the frame leaving me with 3 to concentrate on, KUBA RIVA 16/1 is well weighted on a time from Wolverhampton if it takes to this surface could win the race, its trainer has a 20% win rate here and the apprentice jockey is 1-5 for the stable so positive pointers, ANGEL PALANAS 3/1 is a possible pacesetter but stall 10 doesn't look ideal when there's 5 others in the race that have also led before but if it goes well for it it could at least make the frame, my top rated on c/d times is the 3 year old JACK TAYLOR 7/1 who usually likes to track the leaders and pounce late on so it will hopefully get a good early position from stall 4 from which to launch its attack.

Angel Palanas 3/1 2nd
Jack Taylor 7/1 4th
Kupa River 16/1 5th

Theres only 3 in this field of 14 that I can discard but so will most people, Indian Pursuit has a fast time from Newcastle which is my 2nd highest from anywhere in this race but the trainers 1-31 record at this track is off-putting, Pearl Acclaims poor jockey record 1-17 makes me ask if this one's going to be a trier in this race, Samovar was joint top rated on c/d times and could make the frame but I will put forward the other original joint top rated KODI BEACH 10/1 as a selection as the trainer has a 21% win rate here and the apprentice, who’s 3lb claim makes it top rated, is 2-6 for this stable so both positive pointers, this one likes to track the leaders and on this straight course should hopefully get a clear run, I will also put forward DOTTED SWISS 10/1 as a selection, on its best Lingfield time it would win this race comfortably but hasnt run here before although the trainer has an 18% win rate here and the jockey has a 23% win rate for this stable so another where I think connections are expecting a big run and I will have to go with backing both selections.

Dotted Swiss 12/1 Unp
Kodi Beach 11/1 Unp
