1:45 Southwell Racing Tips (29th December)

EQUIMOU hasn't any course form but has won on good to soft ground so this surface might suit it and it usually races prominently.

CHOOKIE DUNEDIN a 3-year-old who hasn't any surface form but looking as though a longer trip would suit it better.

CLASSIC PURSUIT is just outside my top 4 ratings and stays on at this distance as though further would be better for it.

LA FORTUNA looks quite well drawn being near the front runners and is 3rd top rated so could make the frame.

LANDING NIGHT hasn't shown much recently and its 4th place last time over c/d was a slow run affair but a step in the right direction.

CASTERBRIDGE this one's best time wouldn't see it making the frame but it did win last time out and could lead here plus this is a poor race for the class.

SAMOVAR comes out 2nd top rated and likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish and looks to be coming into form.

EBTIDA is 0-5 on the all-weather including over this c/d looking as though further will suit it better but not shown much lately.

CROSSE FIRE is a possible pacesetter, its last run here in August was in a higher class race so hopefully could lead all the way here.

NORMAL EQUILIBRIUM hasn't shown much in its 2 previous runs here but has won on good to soft ground so could go well but it's not for me.

ALWAYS AMAZING recorded a slow time on its only previous run here and may need further to shine.

PEARL ACCLAIM is the top rated on its best time and could go well here if bouncing back to form.

SUMMARY: Fora class 4 race this looks quite poor and one trainer has 3 of the runners so assuming at least 1 of them is expected to win I have to put SAMOVAR 9/2 up as a selection as it's my 2nd top rated, and will be staying on at the finish but its stablemate CROSSE FIRE 12/1 is a possible pacesetter so the trainer has both angles covered and I will be backing them both, PEARL ACCLAIM 20/1 would need to bounce back to form but has the time to win this race so cannot be left out and I will dutch the 3 selections.

Samovar 9/2 2nd
Crosse Fire 12/1 5th
Pearl Acclaim 33/1 7th
