2:20 Newmarket Racing Tips (4th May)

A lovely looking Group 3 dash with 5 of the 11 runners having been known to lead before and my 3rd top rated Judicial and 2nd top rated Encore D’Or are 2 possible pacesetters so it should be a true run race but I do have MAB'S CROSS 6/1 rated a few spots higher who will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish and will be carrying my money if the going hasn't turned soft to any degree.

Mab's Cross 6/1 1st

THIRSK 2.30

A move up to 6 furlongs and only one horse that has led before and even then, Equiano Springs isn't what I would call a front running sort but it has done when nothing else wants to lead but its better over a shorter trip so I doubt it will set a fast pace here even if it does go to the front, Cartmell Cleave is my 4th top rated but that is using a 2019 time which is a positive, Athollblair Boy is my 2nd top rated but using a 2018 time and the same applies to John Kirkup my 2nd top rated and this one has a losing run of 16 to overcome, 3rd top rated overall is ZUMURUD 13/2 but it is my top-rated using 2019 times and will be carrying my money as the booked jockey has an 18% strike rate on the stables older horses, most likely I will also have a covering bet on my top-rated horse just in case it reproduces its best time.

Zumurud 14/1 8th

An 11 runner dash 3 confirmed front running types, Blue De Vega is my 4th top rated but doesn't want really fast ground, rated just 1lb higher Open Wide comes out 3rd best and can track the pace or be held up but my 2nd top rated is THE DALEY EXPRESS 5/1 who likes to track the leaders and is well drawn in stall 1 in this race and has to be considered as a possible winner, I do have HARRY HURRICANE 10/1 rated higher despite not wanting really fast ground and if the going is ok I will split my bet between the 2 selections.

Harry Hurricane 10/1 3rd
The Daley Express 5/1th

I've only got Boy In The Bar marked down as a possible pacesetter so it could go well if allowed to set its own pace but timewise it needs to improve, Muscika my 4th best and Watchable my 3rd best both like to track the leaders and there's only 1lb between them on my figures, my 2nd top rated is NAADIRR who is usually held up for a late run while my top rated JAWWAAL 3/1 prefers to track the early pace and I will again split my stakes between the 2 of them in this race.

Jawwaal 3/1 2nd
Naadirr 7/1 9th

THIRSK 5.25

Maybe Bowson Fred will set the pace here and it's my joint 3rd top rated using a time it recorded on the aw at Lingfield but its best time from Newbury in 2017 leaves it with something to find, the other 3rd top rated is Jabbarockie using a 2018 time as are all my figures for most of the runners, Excessable usually tracks the leaders and comes out 2nd top rated but if BASHIBA 20/1 can reproduce its time from Windsor last year it would win with a bit in hand but it does need to bounce back to form so my stake won't be at full strength but it has to be worth a small each way bet at the price.

Bashiba 28/1 5th

There's 2 in this race that have been known to lead before and im hoping FOOLAAD 9/2 can set the pace in this race and being my 3rd top rated it could feasibly pinch the race from the front, in 2nd top spot I've got Danielsflyer who may find this class 2 race a little too much for it and the jockey's record of 1-45 on the stables older horses is a little off-putting so maybe they have a future target in mind but it could make the frame but not any value at 4/1. (My original top rated is now a non-runner, hence why the blog doesn't read properly)

Foolaad 8/1 7th
