2:30 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (18th May)

WOLVERHAMPTON 2.30

6F Class 5 Claimer.

ALSVINDER 4/1 this ones best time doesn't see it in my top four ratings and I think that is due to the fact that this surface isn’t its favoured surface and I would look to lay it if the price gives value to do so, and at the price I will be laying it for 2 points.

GOOD EARTH 5/2 has won its last 2 races on turf but is no wins and one placed effort from 6 runs on the AW tracks and its sole run over this c/d resulted in a time that didn't register on my graphs so could be another to lay if of value. And at the price I will lay it to 1 point.

GLORIOUS CHARMER 14/1 comes out 3rd top rated on recent c/d times but drops to 4th top on overall figures and is usually staying on at the finish over this distance but maybe too late for the win in this race.

DOC SPORTELLO 2/1 is versatile when it comes to racing tactics but only usually leads when nothing else wants to, time wise it comes out 2nd best on recent c/d times and 3rd best on overall figures so could go well.

RAABEH 25/1 its only run over this c/d resulted in a comparatively slow time but its best time on this surface at Newcastle would make it 2nd top rated but it hasn't made the frame in all 11 of its runs to date and will be one of the outsiders.

OBTUSE 7/2 a 3yo who seems to like to lead and could get its own way at the front in this race and its time from January this year makes it my top rated on recent and overall figures.

CELERITY 33/1 this one keeps trying but so far its all been in vain as it has had at least 80 previous runs and hasn't managed to win yet and I cannot see why that will change here and I expect it to be the outsider of the whole field.

STAMFORD BRIDGE 16/1 is the 2nd 3yo in the race but this one has shown very little and its time over this c/d on its sole occasion was means it would need to improve several pounds so i expect it will be a biggish price.

SUMMARY: In this 8 runner race we have four horses between 2/1 and 4/1 and the rest are all double figure prices so it looks like its a 4 runner race and the rest have virtually no chance, I will be hoping that the three year old OBTUSE 7/2 can get away smartly and then lead from pillar to post, it is the only horse in the race that looks like a natural front running type and a repeat of its time over this course and distance earlier this year would be good enough to see it back into the winners enclosure the biggest danger might come from Doc Sportello as they are my top rated and both of recorded their best figures over this course and distance and in this year.

Obtuse 7/2 7th -1pt

Total on the day -1pt
