6:30 Chelmsford Racing Tips (28th October)

CHELMSFORD 6.30 

TENTH CENTURY 14/1 a 3yo who has led before when allowed to set its own relatively slow early pace but the final time was quite a bit slow even for this class of race not for me in this race as I don't think it will get its own way up front. 

COOL SPIRIT 12/1 this one does like to lead but I am not sure that this surface will suit it and on other surfaces its times have also been quite slow so its not for me here today but not value to lay at the price. 

ENCHANTED NIGHT 3/1 a 3yo who races as though a longer distance would suit it better and is still a maiden after 9 races but I'm not sure I could back or lay this runner, that was until I've seen the price and I might be tempted to lay it at 3/1 as it looks poor value in my opinion. 

IT MUST BE FAITH 4/1 its best time from 2020 makes it my 2nd top rated as does its time for just 2021 course and distance runs also so it could make the frame after finishing 2nd on both of its last 2 runs so is in good form but isn't really an each way price. 

LORNA COLE 33/1 this one is my 3rd top rated and its best time was recorded here earlier this year so another that could make the frame and may be worth risking a small each way punt as it usually stays on nearing the finish and looks overpriced.

STRONSAY 4/1 hasn't any form over this distance on an artificial surface and it races as though a longer distance is required and its 3 AW races have been quite poor so at the price I would look to lay it as it looks poor value. 

HOWZAK 9/2 the 3rd 3yo in this race but it hasn't any form over this distance but it did fade over 6 furlongs so this race could suit it but I couldn't back or lay this runner.

RUBY WONDER 40/1 has relatively poor form to its name and still a maiden after 9 races but has made the frame 4 times so could do so again here but its time at Wolverhampton over this distance was slow so not surprised its a big price. 

TILSWORTH ROSE 66/1 comes in top spot on my speed figures and the jockey booking also looks a positive move but the trainers relatively poor stats is a concern but the price looks way too big for its actual chance of winning. 

TOP BOY 10/1 has only poor form to its name recently and age may be catching up with this 11yo who hasn't won a race since 2019 and I doubt that will change in this race and I wouldn't be surprised to see it drift in the market.

RED STRIPES 20/1 a possible pacesetter but I think this is another horse where age is catching up with it as this ones last win on the AW was also back in 2019 

SUMMARY: There is six of the eleven runners in this race which I have negatives against and give very little chance to any of them winning this race then I've got two others, Enchanted Night and Howzak, both 3yo’s and they could be dangerous if suddenly improving which can happen with these youngsters, I have a couple who I might do for the forecast in It Must Be Faith and Lorna Cole but my money will be riding on *TILSWORTH ROSE 66/1 (EW) who can be held up or track the leaders and it could get a tow into the race if Cool Spirit blasts out from stall 11 and heads for the rails and a repeat of its winning time here earlier this year would see in winning handily but the trainer is 0-11 in the last 2 weeks and the horse has only won once from 22 runs on the artificial surfaces so my stakes wont be at full strength but I cannot let it run without a small each way punt at the price.

4:40 Chelmsford Racing Tips (18th March)

CHELMSFORD 4.40 

A very strange race to analyse, Spirited Guest 9/2 I expect will be to the fore in the betting but I think it might need this run for fitness, if fully wound up it would have a decent chance of winning, so neither one I could back or lay, Wiley Post 5/1 may need further to shine, Ascot Jungle looks to be an outsider and maybe because this surface which doesn't seem/look to suit it, Stake Acclaim has a time from Lingfield which would make it my 2nd top rated, it seems to get towed along in a fast run race and record a good speed figure but is 0-12 on the AW tracks, Agent Shiftwell 5/1 is the only known front runner in the race but I'm not convinced it likes this surface, Camachess will be trying to stay on at the finish but maybe too late, Jumira Bridge 5/1 hasn't any recent c/d form but has a time from 2019 that would be good enough to win this race but is 0-4 on its previous c/d runs, Shamshon 3/1 produced a slow time only its only previous c/d run but has a positive jockey booking, I will go with splitting my stake between SHAMSHON 3/1 and JUMIRA BRIDGE 5/1 but my stakes will be kept low.

CHELMSFORD 5.55 

Only 7 runners here but a couple of known front runners, Second Collection comes out 2nd best on overall figures but its sole c/d run was run 11lbs below that time from Kempton, Healing Power 11/4 is a possible pacesetter in stall 2 but when it finished 2nd on its only c/d run it was a slow time so not really sure what to expect but I certainly couldn't back it at the price, Company Minx hasn't shown much recently and I expect it will be an outsider, Shoot To Kill is the other possible leader but its 2 runs over this c/d have only produced slow times, Blame Culture hasn't any c/d form and it may need a longer distance to show its best, Show Me A Sunset also hasn't any c/d form and this may be better over a shorter trip but it comes from one of the top stables and running here after winning last time out the trainer probably knows more than me about whether the horse can win this race, Excellent George has 3 wins and 5 places from 10 runs over this c/d and is my top rated, I will have a bet on EXCELLENT GEORGE 6/1 but my stake will be kept on the low side because the apprentice jockey is 0-5 when riding for today's stable.

CHELMSFORD 1.29 

Only 6 runners but there is 2, Merhoob and Spirit Of May, known front runners in the field Merhood has the higher speed figure for 2020 but Spirit Of May has the higher rating overall and that figure is good enough for 2nd top spot so could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead but my money will be riding on my top rated EXCELLENT GEORGE 9/2 who can be held up or track the leaders and in this small filed should be able to get a good position from which to attack nearing the finish.

CHELMSFORD 2.04 

Again only 6 runners and it is fairly close between my top 4 rated beasts, the pace could be set by Bernie's Boy but wont be allowed to dictate in this field and would need to improve time wise to win if others ran to their best, Storm Melody and Album are my joint 3rd top rated and the latter won last time out so is in good form, Daysaq sits in 2nd top spot but is a hold up type so this race might not be run to suit its style and the jockeys 0-11 record for the stable is off-putting, so i will be backing SIR HECTOR 4/1 who is my top rated and this course will suit it better than last time at Wolverhampton when 3rd behind Album, but there is only 3lbs between my top four so my stake will be kept on the low side.

LINGFIELD 3.25 

This isn't a race to be betting too heavily in, I will look to lay (Zulu Zander 13/2) as long as it stays at a single figure price, Flowers Of Venus could be the pacesetter but maybe not good enough to hold on for the win and I think this run might be for fitness after being off for awhile, Kindly 10/1 has a time from 2016 that would make it my 3rd top rated and hasn't had many recent c/d runs so it could possible make the frame if repeating its best and it is an each way price, COME ON GIRL 4/1 won last time out and is my top rated on just recent (2020+2021) c/d times and the horse is two wins from 2 runs over this c/d but is only 3rd best overall, MAMILLIUS 9/2 comes out 2nd best on overall figures and that is using a 2019 c/d time but had only one run over this c/d in 2020, top spot goes to INVINCIBLE LARNE 3/1 but this ones time came from Chelmsford and hasn't run over this c/d before, i will look to dutch the three of them, they are the first 3 in the betting but hey ho you can still make a profit by dutching.

I was going to leave this race alone as there is quite a few lightly raced sorts, the trainer Chelsea Banham has three entries in the race, At Your Service won last time out at Wolverhampton in a decent time but its c/d times have been 10lb below that mark, Kits Allanah is only a 4yo but hasn't shown much so far but the 3rd runner INDEPENDENCE DAY 8/1 who is usually held up for a late run has a time from 2020 that makes it my top rated and if repeating that time it would win a shade cosily, so I'm hoping the betting goes in favour of the stables other runner and I get a decent price to hopefully have an each way wager.

7:00 Chelmsford Racing Tips (10th October)

CHELMSFORD 7.00 

A competitive looking class 4 race with 13 entrants and 4 that like to set the early pace but I think they will set the race up for something coming from off the pace, there's a few that could battle to make the frame, Clareyblue, Extraordinaire (who may do best of the front runners) Recall The Show and Lilklan, my selection is ROCK BOY GREY 6/1 who should be staying on at the finish but I will also have a small each way bet on *STORM OVER 33/1 who has a time from 2019 that would make it top rated and at the price I cannot let it run without a bet on it.

CHELMSFORD 7.30 

A full house of 14 for this race with a couple of front running types and another that can lead if nothing else wants to, Indian Pursuit has a speed figure from 2018 that would see it winning this race but it hasn't shown the same level since then from limited opportunities, Poppy May is a possible pacesetter and comes out joint 3rd best on my figures the other joint 3rd rated being Dubai Paradise, ROCKETEER 10/1 is joint top rated and the one that could do best of those coming from off the pace and has a positive jockey booking and it will be carrying some of my money along with ROCKESBURY 9/1 who is a possible pacesetter and if this one gets to the front it could prove hard to catch but i have to back them both to cover both angles.
