3:50 Pontefract Racing Tips (28th April)

PONTEFRACT 3.50 

A 7 runner race where i will be backing the one that is my top rated and also the only known front runner in the race, the top weight True Mason might struggle to stay the distance with a fast early pace so I will look to lay this one, Mr Orange hasn't shown much in its last 3 runs but has a time from last year over this c/d that would make it my 3rd top rated horse, Final Frontier seems to be on a downward spiral class-wise but does have a time from last year that puts it in 2nd top spot but will be hoping that HIGHLY SPRUNG 11/2 can get away smartly and then lead all the way to the line, it has good trainer and jockey stats as both have an 18% win ratios.

ASCOT 4.30 

A class 4 race with 11 runners and being a 5 furlong dash there's 4 known front runners, I cannot see anything I could lay with any confidence, I've got 5 horses rated within 6lbs at the top of my speed figures, Saaheq is 5th best but that was using a time from 2019 but is in good form having won 7 days ago, Diligent Lady in 4th top spot along with Outrage and Kick On Kick On in joint 2nd top position are all possible pacesetters so it should be truly fast early pace and they might go off a bit too fast and this is a very stiff course so they might play into the hands of ROSE HIP 8/1 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on resolutely at the business end of the race and is dropped in class compared to where it was running last year and hopefully its run 12 days ago will have put it spot on fitness wise for this race.

PONTEFRACT 5.30 

This looks a tricky race with just 2 horses with recorded (fast enough) figures on my graphs and both of them are pretty low ratings, the top weight Fard has been known to lead before and it is one of the two horses in the race with a recorded time and it was from this year at Windsor, I would need a price of 11/2 at least before it would be worth taking the risk so if not this race is maybe best left alone. 

CHELMSFORD 6.40 

It is a shame there is only 7 runners but there is front runners among them, Show Me A Sunset may struggle to stay the distance with a fast early pace so I will look to lay it while Eagle Creek seems to want further to show its best so another I could lay, Araifjan has a time from Lingfield last year that would make it top rated by 2lbs but I am beginning to think this ones best time was a bit of a fluke where it got towed along in a fast run affair and might need further to win, I think Endowed is a possible pacesetter but races as though further might suit it better and might not have the pace to lead at this distance against my selection, One Hart will be running on at the finish and could make the frame but i am hoping that SPIRIT OF MAY 11/1 can lead here from start to finish, it was pestered on its last run and never got its head in front but a repeat of its run the time before that would see it back to winning ways and the trainer does well at this course.

5:30 Chlemsford Racing Tips & Lay (4th February)

CHELMSFORD 5.30 

I can see 2 runners that are natural front running types which is always a positive when trying to analyse a race, I would look to lay (Edraak 9/2) if a single figure price as I think it will be better when raced over further, Watchable is versatile with its racing tactics and that includes leading but maybe wont try that tactic in this race with Will To Win a more natural front runner drawn on its inside, Huraiz has a fast time from Lingfield and this course is very similar so it could go well but will need a bit of luck in running from stall 5 with the make-up of this race as I think SPIRIT OF MAY 10/3 from stall 10 will try and cut across towards the rails and those drawn in stalls 5 to 9 might get squeezed out, and if my selection does get to the front it should prove hard to catch having the top rated time on recent c/d times usually I am not a fan of backing favourites but in class 3 with 7.4k to the winner i would expect them all to be trying.

CHELMSFORD 8.00 

This could be a mad dash for the line with 4 known front runners in the field and its still hard to analyse to a conclusion, there's many with good trainer and/or jockey stats and plenty with good AW and/or c/d win ratios, I think Leodis Dream, Tropics, Texting, Verne Castle and Rovaniemi could battle each other to make the frame but I will pinning my money onto the saddle cloth of JACK THE TRUTH 9/1 who is a possible pacesetter and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch and as long as all 8 take part it might be worth going with an each way bet, the jockeys 40% win ratio on the stables older horses is what made me go with this selection but my stakes wont be at full strength in such a competitive race.

4:25 Kempton Racing Tips & Lay Bets (14th October)

KEMPTON 4.25 Div I 

This race is hard to analyse with a lack of known early pace amongst them, the two that catch my eye are the top two in the handicap who are 1st and 2nd top rated on just 2020 c/d times but Winnetka who is a 3yo has had 10 runs now without winning a race and could make the frame again here, Magicinthemaking has a time from 2018 at Chelmsford that would make it 2nd top rated overall and its win at this c/d was a slow run affair but its not for me in this race, the 3yo Come On Girl also has a Chelmsford time but this one would make it top rated overall but its one c/d run was poor, so not really sure what to expect, my money, which will be kept low, has to ride on GRIGGY 12/1 (EW) who is running in slightly easier race here and is my top rated on just 2020 times and has to be an each way bet at the price.

KEMPTON 4.55 Div II

This 2nd division is even worse and again no known front runners amongst them, I can see 4 horses in this race that have pieces of form that could win the race, Lorna Cole my 4th top rated is a hold up type so I'm not 100% sure this race will be run to suit it and if its a short price I would be tempted to lay it just for the value side of things, Sir Rodneyredblood is my 3rd top rated using a time from Lingfield but its times here have been slower, Brenner Pass is my 2nd top rated but using a Southwell time while BROUGHTON'S COMPASS 12/1 (EW) is top rated using a Chelmsford time so will be the one carrying my money in an each way wager. 

Broughton's Compass 25/1 5th (-2pts)

This is a nice looking class 2 race but at least this time there is a known front runner, I will look to lay (Tinto + Ornate) who both look better horses over a shorter distance, I can see 4 horses, Motogally, Desert Doctor, Full Authority and Nigel Nott that could run well and have to fight each other to fill the places while my money will be riding on the front running SPIRIT OF MAY 14/1 and if this one does get to the front it could prove very hard to catch and it has to be worth an each way punt as I will be surprised if its not in the frame if it gets to the front and gets an uncontested lead.
