I mentioned a system that was given to me where you backed a horse that was a beaten favourite on its last run when ridden by an apprentice jockey. It has to be fancied in the betting in the race in question and being ridden by a professional jockey this time it was a selection.
This system is similar in the fact that you are looking for a horse that was a beaten favourite in its last race but this time we are looking for a horse that is dropped in class for its next race.
Being dropped in class can be if its last race was a class three race when the new race is class four but another way of being dropped in class is when the race in question is for less prize money. So it doesn't have to be dropped in class as with the race ratings like class three into class four but if it is still in a class three race but for less prize money it counts as a drop. Whichever of the two ways of backing a beaten favourite you do not bet if it is raised in class.
