5:25 Chelmsford Racing Tips & Lay Bets (22nd August)

CHELMSFORD 5.25

SEPAHI 8/1 has only a slow c/d time from 2019 to its name and its best time from Wolverhampton would still mean it would need to improve to win this race I would lay it at the price.

RASHEEQ 20/1 ran 2nd over this c/d but in a slow time and hasn't shown much so far this year and I expect it to be an outsider (it's up to you if you would lay it at such a big price).

KAPONO 10/1 hasn't any course form to work with and not shown much at all this year, its best time from Newcastle wouldn't even see it making the frame.

SWISS PRIDE 9/2 one of 2 known frontrunners in the race, its time here is relatively slow but a repeat of its best Lingfield time would see it in the mix.

BREAKFAST CLUB (3yo) 11/2 has only run twice winning once and 3rd in the other race both over 5 furlongs, it could be anything so has to be considered at least as a danger.

VILLIAN'S VOICE (3yo) 15/2 is making its handicap debut which always makes it a possible hidden danger, it has the fastest c/d time for this year so has to be feared.

ZENALDA (3yo) 18/1 hasn't any form at this distance and it may be a better a horse when tried over a longer distance.

BROUGHTON'S FLAME 14/1 will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish and could feasibly at least make the frame so maybe worth a small each-way punt at the price.

CHAMPAGNE SUPANOVA (3yo) 9/2 is the other possible pacesetter and its best c/d time from last year could see it leading all the way here and stall 3 should be ideal in the make-up of this race.

VICTORY ROSE 15/2 hasn't any course form and its best speed figure from Wolverhampton wouldn't be good enough to even make the frame.

ALBUM (3yo) 7/1 hasn't run on any All-Weather track before which can make it dangerous but I think it might need further for it to shine so I would lay it at the price.

PHOENIX STAR 12/1 can struggle to stay this distance if there's a fast early pace which I think there will be in this race.

CONCLUSION: There's a few to lay in this race (Sepahi, Rasheeq, Zenaida, and Album) there are also four horses that could be a danger to my selection and any of them could make each way bets, Swiss Pride Breakfast Club, Villains Voice, and Broughtons Flame but my money will be riding on the 3yo CHAMPAGNE SUPANOVA 9/2 who I am hoping can lead all the way.

Champagne Supanova 9/2 8th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Zenaida -33pts Betfair SP (53.18), Sepahi +1pt, Rasheeq +1pt, Album +1pt

Total: -31pts
