2:05 York Racing Tips (24th September)

YORK 2.05

A cracking looking class 2 sprint with 11 runners and 2 known front running types, one of those front runners Mr Wagyu 7/2 has been running out of its skin and isn't one to ever underestimate but is only 4th best on my figures but it could make the frame but in my opinion is isn't a value bet, I will look to lay Nomadic Empire 10/1 who might be better when raced over a shorter distance and Chairmanoftheboard 6/1 who may prefer further or a slower surface to win over this distance, Music Society 12/1 is my 3rd top rated using a time from Hamilton this year so could be worth an each way interest, Treacherous 13/2 comes out 2nd best using a time from 2020 recorded at Goodwood, I will be putting my money on the top weight LAMPANG 16/1 (EW) who is the other possible pacesetter in this race and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch admittedly it hasn't been in great form lately but this does look slightly easier task than some of its previous races this year, the stable has been in good form with 15 winners in the last 2 weeks and might be a value each way punt at the odds on offer.

Lamplang 16/1 Unp -2pts

Lay bets: Chairmanoftheboard +1pt

Total -1pt

Note:  Nomadic Empire was not given as a lay bet as all Eric's lay bets must be single figure sp.

NEWCASTLE 5.30

A class 6 race where only 4 of the 12 runners have a time good enough to register on my figures, Sestriere has run in Ireland on the AW but hasn't won in 9 attempts and is making its debut on English AW and could be dangerous but I couldn't back it nor lay I also couldn't lay the 3yo’s Lola Rebel and Fossos 5/2 although the latter is definitely not value for money at the price, another two 3yo’s Sheilas Legacy 15/2 and Elzaal 10/3 are my 3rd and 2nd top rated horses but I will be putting my trust in the top weight LORD OF THE GLEN 13/2 who is known front running type and if getting to the front in this race it ought to prove hard to catch and has a positive looking jockey booking (I like that rhyme, yes I am a saddo).

Lord Of Glen 13/2 1st

NEWCASTLE 8.30

Quite a good race for a class 5 affair, Tathmeen has been known to lead if nothing else wants to but I don't think it will need to in this race, Thornaby Pearl 11/2 is held by one of my selections and might be worth laying if a single figure price, Canford Bay 10/1 hasn't shown much time wise over this c/d since 2017 and its best Wolverhampton time this year is only good enough for 6th top rated so maybe another to lay and I could also lay Aunt Agatha who might have been flattered when finishing 2nd the time before last and as usual any lays have to be under 10/1, Captain Vallo 11/2 has a fast time from the turf at Hamilton but I would need to see some proof before I could back it but I also couldn't lay it in this race as that time would make it my top rated, so I will be backing the pair that are my joint 2nd top rated and both of their times were over this c/d, the jockey booking on GOWANBUSTER 12/1 (EW) looks significant winning its only previous ride for this stable and it was on this horse in 2019 so it looks like they are expecting a big run and it could be the one to set the pace to the race but I have to admit its 3 runs this year on turf have been poor so I will also be backing ROYAL ADVICE 10/1 (EW) who also has a positive looking jockey booking and will be held up for a late run and at the prices I will go with two each way bets in this race.

Royal Advice 10/1 9th -2pts
Gowanbuster 16/1 Unp -2pts

Lay bets: Thornaby Pearl +1pt

Total -3pts

Total on the day  +2.5pts
