3:20 Newcastle Racing Tips (22nd Febraury)

NEWCASTLE 3.20

VENTUROUS prefers to track the leaders before staying on strongly at the finish but may get outpaced in this race and then not be able to stay on quickly enough to catch the leaders.

MAY SONIC races as though longer distance suits it better, it usually stays on too late to win over this distance and may get outpaced in the early stages in this race.

THE BELL CONDUCTOR one of 3 known front running types in this race and is my 3rd top rated horse so could do enough to make the frame.

LORD RIDDIFORD another possible pacesetter and is my 2nd top rated and could make a bold attempt to lead all the way in this race and has won at a higher level back in 2021.

BADRI this one races as though further suits it much better and might need this run to gain fitness after a 133 day break so might be worth laying.

EMPEROR SPIRIT is another one that would probably be better suited when racing over further but hasn't raced over this distance before which is all that prevents it going on my lay list.

KHABIB a front running type comes out top rated using a rating recorded at Southwell last year but all its best form has come in lower class races so may struggle here.

POCKLEY usually likes to track the leaders, its best rating came over this course and distance this year but is only good enough for 4th top spot on my overall figures.

SUMMARY: I'm a bit worried that Badri might blast off from the front at the start and go flat out to gain fitness and that just might scupper my chances, I think this race will be won from the front, Pockley may do best of those coming from off the pace so might be worth an each way interest. I will look to lay Badri if its a single figure price, The Bell Conductor is my 3rd top rated but 2nd top on just ratings at this class but if LORD RIDDIFORD 11/2 can repeat its Southwell, they are both over the straight five furlongs, rating here then it could lead all the way, has been running okay in its last few runs finishing in the top 4 in its last 5 races and has been found an opportunity to get back to winning ways in this race and also has good trainer 18% win ratio stats and jockey again 18% winning ratio so it seems to point to connections expecting it to go very well in this race.

Lord Riddiford 1/1 8th -1pt

Lay bet Badri -5pts

Total on the day -6pts
