6F Apprentices Class-6 13-Runners
I can see 4 possible pacesetters in this race and Bungle Bay 7/2 has the plum stall 1 draw but would need to improve time wise to hold on for the win but is in good form having won last time out so I'm not sure I could lay it, using a 2021 rating Champagne Supanova 11/1 could be the one to lead and would be my 2nd top rated using that figure but hasn't been as good since then so maybe not worth risking an each way punt, Viewfromthestars 11/2 has led before but stall 11 might be its undoing in this race but I couldn't back or lay this one. I am wary of laying 3yo’s but Scramble 6/1 may be better over further while Kodi Dancer 11/2 may be better over shorter and if single figure prices I will look to lay them for small stakes. My money will be riding on MOSTALLIM 8/1 who usually likes to track the leaders and could get a good tow towards the rails being drawn between 2 front running types and is dropped in class to run here and if things go to plan it could get back to winning ways.

6F Class-5 13-Runners
Stalls 6,8 and 12 house horses that like to front run but all need to improve either time wise or in what they have shown in their recent form but I expect they will all be outsiders in this race. If Captain Vallo 8/1 could reproduce its best Newcastle rating from 2021 it would win this race with a bit to spare but hasn't been anywhere near that level since then, I'm not sure what to expect from the 3yo’s Imperial Dream 4/1 and Fifty Year Storm 7/2 but both might be better when tried over a longer distance. Asadjumeirah 4/1 and Hello Me 12/1 could go well if in their best form but my money will be riding on NEWYORKSTATEOFMIND 20/1 (EW) who likes to track the leaders and its best time from 2022 makes it my top rated on recent, 2022-23, ratings and repeat would see it getting back to winning ways and at the price it has to be backed as an each way punt.

5F Class-6 Div II 10-Runners
The 1st division of this race was too poor to bother with although this division isn't that much better but I think I might have found a worthwhile bet in the race. I think Clownsman 4/1 might be flattered with its 3rd place finish 2 runs ago and is still a maiden after having had 10 races so one I will look to lay, Laertes 5/1 could also be a lay if of value to do so, Lancashire Life 4/1 might be better when racing over further and could be another one to lay in this race. Yaahobby 13/8 has been in decent form recently making the frame in several races but not winning and I think it might have to settle for a place only again in this race, Red Walls 20/1 could be the one to set the pace to this race and if allowed an easy lead it could do enough at least to make the frame. I will be putting my trust in BATTLE POINT 8/1 who won 4 runs ago and has finished 4th in its last 3 runs but this race is one that it is capable of winning if returning to its best.
