3:35 Newcastle Racing Tips (12th January)

NEWCASTLE 3.35 

A class five dash with just 7 runners and 2 known front running types amongst them Another Angel is one of them but has been in woeful form recently and I expect it will be one of the outsiders in the betting so too big to be of value to lay but I could lay Idoapologise if its a single figure price as it needs to improve time wise and further seems to suit it better as its never won over today's distance. Ruggles has one good rating over this course and distance but that rating might have been a bit of a fluke maybe where it got towed along in a fast run race and a possible lay if of value to do so. Kraken Power has only 1 win to its name from 31 races and I'm not sure if it prefers a longer distance or a different surface to show its best so might be one of value to lay, I'm not sure what to expect from Wee Fat Mac so I can't back or lay this one. As for the winner of this race I'm looking towards MODULAR MAGIC 5/1 who is my 2nd top rated horse and also the other known front running type and with an easy lead it could lead all the way as I've rated it just 1lb below INDIAN SOUNDS 5/1 who seems to like tracking the leaders before staying on strongly nearing the finish and they both finished 4th last time out indicating a return to form was imminent.

CHELMSFORD 5.30 

I hope all 8 runners take part in case I find an each way wager in the field, I will be looking to lay Suzi's Connoisseur if its a single figure price as it hasn't won a race since 2019 and it might need this run for fitness as its last run was just over a year ago. Dark Design looks the most likely one to set the pace to this race and as always if its allowed an easy lead it could prove very dangerous and could even win the race but ratings wise it needs to improve a good few spots, Company Minx is my 2nd top rated and usually likes to track the leaders so could go well and might be worthwhile looking at an each way bet. My money will be riding on SHAMSHON 3/1 as its my top rated and the trainer has a 25% win ratio in apprentice jockey races and can either be held up or track the leaders either way it should be staying on at the finish.

CHELMSFORD 7.00

A nice class 3 race over the minimum distance and as usual at this level a poor turnout of just 6 runners where 4 of them have been known to lead before so it should be a fast run race for the class. Papa Don't Preach and Double Dealing would both need to improve time wise to win this race and they are the 2 that are not known to front run so I doubt either will get into the race. Harb is my 4th top rated and needs to improve on the clock to win here, I've got joint 2nd top rated horses in Impeach and Atiyah but my top rated horse MISS NAY NEVER 8/11 has the stall 1 draw and I expect it to get away smartly and gain control on the rails and then prove too hard to catch in the closing stages its won its last 2 races and has been found the ideal opportunity to complete the hattrick in this race and its a course where the trainer has a 30% win ratio with their older horses and the jockeys strike rate is 18% when riding for the stable.

3:30 Pontefract Racing Tips (23rd September)

PONTEFRACT 3.30 

An 8 runner race with 3 known front runners amongst them but I think they will set it up for something coming from off the pace, I could look to lay Penny Pot Lane, maybe not this class, Oso Rapide 10/3 who has shown very little time wise and the same applies to Cottam Lane 10/3 even when winning, Bossipop, Jordan Electrics, Lady Nectar and Mutanaaseq could all go well and battle to make the frame but i will be backing the top weight BOWMAN 11/2 who if it can reproduce its Carlisle time it would be winning this race a shade cosily.

PONTEFRACT 4.05

The early pace might be set by Ben Macdul and/or Modular Magic either could go well with an easy lead but the former would need to improve time wise while the latter might be outclassed in this race, I will look to lay Saluti 11/2 who might prefer a longer trip and this race might not be run to suit it, the trainer Paul Midgley has 3 runners in this race and I think he could win the race with either INDIAN SOUNDS 10/3 or BALLINTOY HARBOUR 15/2 who both like to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish and the latter does seem to need good to firm ground to show its best form, i will be backing them both in this race.

I hope all take part so I can have an each way bet in this race, I would look to lay Jorvik Prince who may need further and is better on the AW tracks, Gorgeous General 8/1 who also may need further to shine and Muatadel 11/2 who doesn't seem to like good to firm ground, the early pace might be set by Fossos who is my 3rd top rated or Equate both being 3yo’s could improve, Newgate Angel comes out 2nd top using a 2020 time my money will be on YOUNG TIGER 12/1 who comes out on top for just this year and its better time from 2020 makes it my top rated on overall figures and luckily the price is big enough for me to have an each way wager.

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.30

There's only 1 horse aged above four in this race so I am a bit short of data to be confident in this race and the funny thing is the oldest horse in the race *KATHERINE PLACE 6/1 recorded a fast time at Chelmsford when it won last time out and will probably be the favourite but it has been found a good opportunity to follow up that win and its best time over this course and distance is good enough for 2nd top spot and being the most natural front runner in the field it could lead all the way but stall 10 isn't ideal if others change their usual style and try to lead as well, the only horse with a higher speed figure is ROMAN ENCOUNTERS 14/1 (EW) who’s figure was recorded on this surface but at Newcastle and if this one is an each way price I will definitely be backing it.

2:38 Salisbury Racing Tips (13th June)

SALISBURY 2.38 

A 6 runner dash, 5 furlongs, with just the bottom weight Coronation Cottage 10/1 known as a front running type and its best time from Bath last year puts it in 2nd top spot on my figures but that time was recorded in a lower class race and it may struggle here unless allowed an easy lead but as the other 5 runners are all known to track the leader I doubt that will happen and i would look to lay it if a single figure price another i will look to lay is Beyond Equal 7/2 who is forecast to be the favourite but this one looks better when raced over further and may stay on too late to win this race, my money will be riding on ROSE HIP 2/1 who has recorded a reasonable speed figure for this year but it is its best time from 2020 that makes it my top rated and the jockey does have a 17% win ratio for the stable so I'm hoping that's a good omen.

Another 6 runner dash with both Mountain Peak my 4th top rated and Caspian Prince my joint 2nd top rated known as front running types so it should be a true run affair, Royal Birth is my other joint 2nd top rated but I had to go back to 2019 to fins this ones best speed figure but this ones best form this year is very much lower, Ginger Jam and Jawwaal both need to improve time wise to win this race which leaves me with the top rated INDIAN SOUNDS 10/1 who usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish so this race could be ideal for it.

SALISBURY 3.38 

Yet again another 6 runner race with one known front running type in Mum's Tipple and Cairn Gorn who is versatile when it comes to racing tactics and that does include leading, the former is my 3rd top rated using a time from 2019 but hasn't shown as much since then, the latter is a 3yo so could still improve and it needs to to win this race but it was racing in higher class races last year but this is its 1st run of this year so not really sure what to expect but I would respect its chances if backed, the bottom weight, another 3yo, comes out 2nd best using a time recorded on the AW at Chelmsford, my top rated is KHAADEM 11/8 who comes out top on just recent ratings and on overall ratings using its best time from 2020 it also has good trainer stats and very good jockey stats and will be carrying my money.

2:35 Leicester Racing Tips & Lay Bets (21st September)

LEICESTER 2.35 

Only 8 runners which I can split into 3 groups, there's a couple that could run ok but I'm not sure they can win the race, then I've got 4 that i would look to lay if of any value, 9/1 or less (Strong Power + Able Kane + Sycamore + Honore Daumier) which leaves the two i will be backing, HUMAN NATURE 8/1 is top rated if I go back to its best time from 2018 and to be honest its not had many races since then under ideal conditions so could bounce back to form here if allowed an easy lead as its the only known front running type in the race but I will also back the horse top rated on 2020 times and that's HOLDENHURST 8/1 who likes to track the pacesetters and then stay on strongly at the finish.

The early pace in this race could be set by Dark Shot and Equiano Springs wont let it have its own way at the head of the race, Tathmeen comes out 3rd best on my figures and usually race in midfield before trying to stay on at the finish, my top 2 are only separated by 1lb on my ratings so I will be backing them both, INDIAN SOUNDS 6/4 and NORTH WIND 6/1 they both like to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and being so closely rated it may come down to which one of them gets the clearest run in the race.

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.25

I will start with the 2 lays as long as they are no bigger than 9/1 shots, (*Bellevarde who might want further + Capla Spirit who might prefer a different surface ) although Capla Spirit is the only known front runner in the race I think it will set the race up for a finishing type, Mutabaahy, Baltic State, Dynamo Walt and Dana Forever could run well and be battling to fill the places but my money will be on VICTORY ROSE 9/4 who recorded its best time this year and likes to track the leader and then stay on resolutely at the business end of the race.
