4:10 Newcastle Racing Tips & Lay Bets (15th January)

NEWCASTLE 4.10

When I put something up as a lay it is always a single figure price and admittedly as i get most of these things right they do drift and it is up to you whether you think laying a bigger priced horse is value or not. There is only 2 known front running types in this race and one of them, (Rockley Point) I would look to lay as it might be outclassed here as it usually runs/wins in class 6 races and the jockeys record, 0-10, doesn't inspire confidence, Suwaan has a time from back in 2018 that would make it my 2nd top rated and its not been in good form lately, Tathmeen could make the frame and its won 5 ties from 12 runs over this c/d so could at least make the frame, my money will be riding on LONGROOM 16/1 (EW) who won 3 races ago over this c/d, its next run was a false start and it was a spent force for the re-run, last time out it couldn't get to the front but in the make-up of this race it could lead and if doing so could prove hard to catch and luckily its an each way price.

Longroom 20/1 5th (-2pts)

Lay bet: Rockley Point +1pt

Total: -1pt

SOUTHWELL 6.00

There is quite a few lightly raced 4yo’ in this race so any stakes will be kept low, one of them Kits Allanah now in stall 2,improved dramatically last time out when leading before fading to 4th at Chelmsford and this slower surface might work in its favour and it might spoil the hopes of my selection JAZZ LEGEND 10/1  (EW) who is also a front running type luckily it has got the inside berth and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch and at the price it has to be given as each way wager, I will look to lay (Archimedes) who is better over a shorter distance, two others Send In The Clouds and Fenix will join the list if in single figure prices as neither have shown much form, the 10yo Kommander Kirkup is still useful on its day but there are few and far between nowadays but never say never but it isn't a great race so wont take much winning.

Jazz Legend 10/1 (EW) (+12.5pts)

Lay bet: Archimedes +1pt

Total: +13.5pts

SOUTHWELL 7.00

Lets start with something to lay (Heartstar) who is 5th top on my figures but this doesn't look to be its favoured surface, another to lay could be (Leo Minor) who stays on this distance but maybe needs further plus its held by on recent form by Gospel and that was a slow run affair for either of them unless the surface was much much slower than usual (that just might be the reason because they say the life of the surface is coming to an end and they are going to resurface the course this spring/summer and they are going to use the Tapeta surface which will be the end of fibresand in this country) I will be siding with RED STRIPES 11/2 who is a front running type and it could lead all the way here being my top rated on recent c/d times and 2nd top overall just behind MARWARI 3/1 who recorded the races highest speed figure at Newcastle in 2020, this will be its 1st run at this course but if taking to this surface it could go well so I will have to back both selections.

Marwari 5/1 2nd (-1pt)
Red Stripes 11/2 3rd (-1pt)

Lay bets: Heartstar +1pt, Leo Minor +1pt

Total: 0pts

Total on the day: +12.5pts

6:05 Newcastle Racing Tips (28th December)

NEWCASTLE 6.05

A full house of 14 entrants with just Lapidary known as a front running type but it hasn't been in good form lately but if allowed an easy lead it could do enough from the front to hold on for a place, I cant see anything to lay that's of value and as for the winner I have narrowed it down to 3 selections and the more I look the harder it is to eliminate any of my picks, GHATHANFAR 11/1 who is my 3rd top rated and won last time out and it has a positive looking jockey booking in Luke Morris so could be worth an each way bet at the double figure price on offer, my 2nd selection HERRINGSWELL 11/2 also won last time out when ridden by today's 7lb claiming apprentice and its my 2nd top rated because the horses that it beat last time out FRIENDLY ADVICE 15/2 is better in at the weights, so should therefore be my selection, plus it is being ridden by a 5lb claiming apprentice has a 1-3 record for this stable which moves it further clear on my figures but I am not sure if the winner did or didn't have a little bit more in hand, so it looks as though the connections of all 3 selections are expecting their horse to win or at least run well and I will be dutching them all to show a profit but I will probably tilt my stakes in favour of my top rated selection.

NEWCASTLE 6.35

A poor turnout of just 7 runners but 4 of them in this dash like to lead and my 2 top rated horses are possible pacesetters, Lomu has only a slow time to show for its only c/d run but its best speed figure from Lingfield would make it my 2nd top rated, Outrage has only slow c/d times and its best time from Lingfield would still see it short of what's required (that's assuming others run to their best) Mutabaahy’s best times have come on this surface but it would need to improve time wise to win this race, Another Angel likes to front run and comes out 2nd top on just 2020 c/d times and 3rd spot overall, Primos Comet will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish but maybe a fraction too late to catch the leaders, Fashion Advice is the only 3yo in the race but time wise is a bit below whats required to win this race, on my figures LONGROOM 8/1 is well weighted and comes out top rated overall and won well two runs ago over this c/d and its last run, where there was a false start and it completed a lot of the distance before pulling up, can be ignored and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch but that was a class 6 race compared to class 4 here but it looks the value call in the race but my stakes will have to be kept relatively low.

6:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (19th October)

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.00 Div I

Not the greatest of races for a class 4 affair but being split into two divisions does help having slightly smaller fields in each race, there's 3 known front runners so it should be a mad dash for the line, LONGROOM 13/2 will probably do best of the pacesetters but this ones best time which puts it in top spot overall does come from Newcastle (the same surface but without a bend) and its best c/d time from 2019 would see it in the frame so will be carrying some of my money but the trainers 2-59 record at this course is a bit off-putting so it maybe wont be my main bet, both Mutabaahy and Dynamo Walt could go well if bouncing back to form, I will also be backing DREAM HOUSE 5/1 in this race who showed a return to form was on the cards when finishing 3rd last time out and the jockey does have a 18% win ratio on the stables older horses and is only 2lbs off of being the top rated and it being recent form it cannot be ignored.

Dream House 5/1 3rd (-1pt)
Longroom 13/2 Unp (-1pt)

TOTAL: -2pts

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.30 Div II

This is definitely the better of the two divisions, I can only see You're Cool as a possible pacesetter and with an uncontested lead could be hard to catch but it usually does its winning in lower class races than this one and Show Me The Bubbly is another that has a decent time to its name but again its wins usually come in lower class affairs but either of them could possibly make the frame, Tathmeen is another that could possibly battle for a place in the frame but hasn't shown much of worth so far this year, my money has to riding on the top weighted REASSURE 9/2 who in this race is taking on inferior beasts and if this hold up type is able to reproduce its best time from Newcastle last year it would win cosily, the trainer has an over 30% win ration here at Wolverhampton and the jockey has an over 20% win ratio for the stable which hopefully means that connections are expecting to get back to winning ways in this race.

Reassure 11/2 8th (-1pt)

1:15 Newmarket Racing Tips & Lay Bets (6th June)

*PLEASE CHECK THE GOING AT NEWMARKET IF ITS NOT GOOD OR FASTER MY SPEED FIGURES ARE IRRELEVANT NEWMARKET (NO BET)

1.15 NEWMARKET -

A tricky race to start the Guineas meeting at racings headquarters, I live quite close and find it a soulless place and without binoculars and a good vantage point you end up watching the giant screen on the other side of the track at the finish line, any back to racing, I will look to lay 3 horses, (Leodis Dream who is better on the AW, while both Count D’arcy + Aplomb prefer a slower surface, as there is rain forecast for later today I suggest you don't lay the last two until you see if the going has softened) the bottom 3 in the handicap, Blue De Vega, Royal Birth, and Restless Rose, all have good speed figures but not at class 2 level on turf, Makanah could go well here and has a positive looking jockey booking, my money will be carried by STONE OF DESTINY 6/1 who I will be backing each way, it is a tricky race so my stakes will be kept on the low side.

Stone Of Destiny 6/1 EW 4th (-2pt)

Lay bets: Leodis Dream +1pt, Count D'arcy +1pt, Aplomb +1pt

Total +1pts

NEWMARKET 1.50

This looks a very competitive Group 3 affair, where I can only see one to lay (Far Above who I think needs further and may get outpaced here) I can see any of Major Jumbo, Arecibo, Judicial, Ornate, Tarboosh, Hareem Queen, Shades Of Blue and Queens Gift, running big races but my money will be riding on MOSS GILL 5/1 who won its last race on the AW and that was maybe to get it fit for a tilt at this race and if I'm right the early 8/1 on offer may be good each-way value.

Moss Gill 5/1 6th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Far Above - 3.5pts

Total: - 4.5pts

LINGFIELD 4.55

A very competitive class 5 sprint, I have found 4 horses to lay (Becker + Soldiers Son + Discreet Hero + Camachess) one that could be on my list of potential winners is Pettochside who has a time from Kempton that would make it my top-rated but it has run over this c/d twice and done virtually nothing which would make it one to lay, so best left alone? EQUIPPED 7/2 is one that I will be backing as it has good trainer/jockey stats, The Lacemaker has 3 c/d wins but the 2 wins in 2019 were in slow run affairs and haven't done much of note timewise since 2018 which puts me off its chances, I will have to back URBAN HIGHWAY 10/1 each way, it did the best c/d time in 2019 although the jockey booking doesn't look a positive move, there is a lack of known frontrunners so stakes will be kept low.

Equipped 7/2 2nd (-1pt)
Urban Highway 12/1 EW 9th (-2pt)

Lay bets: Becker +1pt, Soldier's Son +1pt, Discreet Hero +1pt, Camachess +1pt

Total: +1pt

NEWCASTLE 5.05

I will highlight the 3 I will be laying first (Global Humor + Somewhere Secret + Comptons Finale, all 3 might prefer a longer trip and the latter pair might also prefer a slower surface) the bottom-weight BOUDICA BAY 12/1 has only run once on the AW but looking at its form on turf it could be a hidden danger and may be worth an each-way interest, LONGROOM 5/2 won its last race on March 5th and if in the same vein of form could win again here, MARIETTA ROBUSTI 12/1 finished 2nd last time out three-quarters of a length behind Longroom and strictly at the weights Longroom should beat it again but the apprentice jockey gave it far too much to do that day and now back in the hands of a professional jockey could do better and another may be worth an each-way wager but again it's a race where my stakes will be lowish.

Boudica Bay 14/1 EW 2nd (+2.5pts)
Longroom 11/4 4th (-1pt)
Marietta Rosti 25/1 EW 6th (-2pts)

Lay bets: Global Humor +1pt, Somewhere Secret +1pt, Comptons +1pt

Total: +2.5pts

4:10 Catterick Racing Tips (3rd September)

CATTERICK 4.10 (8.4)

A hard race to analyse with 6 having good chances of winning if going back to 2018 and 2017 for some of their best times and maybe Orions Bow, Highland Acclaim and Zylan are on a downward spiral, Extrasolar is well weighted on its best time but is on a losing streak of 11 which leaves me with the 2 I will be backing, firstly INDIAN PURSUIT 9/1 who is the only known frontrunning sort in the race and if given an easy lead could prove hard to catch and I have only B FIFTY TWO 5/1 rated higher but this one can find the trip a touch too far if the early pace is really fast but I will be backing them both to cover the angles but my stakes won't be at full strength.

B Fifty Two 11/2 1ST
Indian Pursuit 9/1 4th

GOODWOOD 5.00 (7.3)

A poor turnout of just 5 runners and Silca Mistress could be the one to set the pace but would need to improve timewise and hasn't been in top form this year, Sweet Pursuit and Wotadoll could be staying on at the finish but my money will be riding on the 3-year-old CHITRA 6/1 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish.

Chitra 6/1 2nd

CATTERICK 5.40 (8.4)

A competitive race but the lack of known pace puts me off and I won't be betting very heavily in this race, Funkadelic is my 3rd top-rated but the trainers 0-21 record here puts me off this one, Kibaar would be in the mix on its best time from Thirsk in 2018 but my money, well a small amount of it, will be riding on LONGROOM 11/1 who has a time this year that would leave it needing to find a few pounds but a 2018 time at Ripon makes it my top-rated and maybe worth a small each-way punt.

Longroom 11/1 4th

SALISBURY 6.30 (8.2)

Back to 5 runners and 1 known frontrunner in Emaraaty Ana but its best time from 2018 leaves it with something to find and I'm a bit surprised its the 6/4 favourite, Ice Age on a losing run of 13 and Baron Bolt are my joint 2nd top-rated again on times from 2018 while my top rated horse did record its best time this year at Ascot so FOXTROT LADY 13/8 will be burdened by my money.

Foxtrot Lady 13/8 3rd
