1:10 Chelmsford Racing Tips (25th January)

CHELMSFORD 1.10

Not the greatest of races with 2 known front running types among them, Kupa River is my 3rd top rated and one of the possible pacesetters so could make the frame, SIR HECTOR 8/1 is my 2nd top rated and could do best of those coming from off the pace and I will be backing this one just in case the leaders fade in they battle all the way for the lead but maybe more as a covering bet, I hope that BARRINGTON 5/1 from stall 2 can gain control of the rails and could feasibly lead all the way for the victory that is if it can reproduce its best Lingfield time at this course but hasn't ran over this c/d before so its not guaranteed hence why I will be going with 2 bets in this race.

Sir Hector 8/1 2nd (-1pt)
Barrington 5/1 3rd (-1pt)

KEMPTON 4.45 Div I

This isn't the greatest of races either with only 5 of them recording a rating on my speed figures. At least there is a couple of front running sorts and I this race could well be won from the front. Aces would be 2nd top rated overall using its best time from Wolverhampton this year but I have a feeling this surface won't suit it as well and its sole run here resulted in a slow time so maybe worth laying at the price. Fard who comes out 4th best also may prefer a different surface to show its best form. Poeta Brasileiro has a time from Chelmsford that makes it my top rated overall but the time when it won over this c/d was in a slow run race and if allowed an easy uncontested lead then it could do so again but that win was from 2018 but I don't think it will be getting an easy lead with Kingsley Klarion 7/2 in the race and this one looked the safest option in the race as the jockey has a decent 17% in rate on this stables older horses but its time last time out when finishing 2nd plus I had to go back to 2018 for its best time and after seeing the betting I will be taking a watching brief in this race.

KEMPTON 5.15 Div II

This 2nd division does look a bit better but still not great but I have found a nugget that I hope isn't fools gold, the biggest problem is the lack of early pace but I suspect something will set a decent gallop.Jeffrey Harris hasn't any course form but its time from Newcastle makes it my 4th best overall. Secret Potion is usually held up for a late run and comes out 3rd top on a c/d time but it was from 2019. Comeatchoo is well handicapped at the moment but I'm not sure this race will be an ideal opportunity as it can sometimes struggle to stay the distance but if they set a slow early pace it could go well but I will be trusting URBAN HIGHWAY 18/1 (EW) with my money it can be held up or track the leaders and the 5lb claiming apprentice has a 20% win ratio on this stables older horses and looks worth the punt at the price and I would suggest a small each way wager.1:10

7:40 Kempton Racing Tips (14th December)

KEMPTON 7.40 6f Class 6 Div I

What a poor race this is, I've only got 3 runners with times good enough to register on my graphs and all of those figures either came from last year or a different course, if I knew there would be a fast early pace then I would lay Essaka 7/2 who may struggle to stay the trip and looks poor value, Hey Ho Lets Go hasn't shown much this year and i would lay it if priced under the 10/1 currently on offer, Cool Strutter 6/1 has a 1-30 record on the AW tracks and this distance does stretch it if there's a fast early pace so looks worth taking on at the price, betting wise I will be having two bets on BURNING SUN 4/1 as this 3yo is my 2nd top rated using a Chelmsford time and it was recorded this year which is a positive, Captain Ryan has been capable on its best form but its no a 9yo so not likely to improve but could make the frame, my other bet will an each way bet on MERCERS 14/1 who did record its best time over this c/d but that was in 2019 and this one doesn't want a fast early pace so could hopefully give me some insurance if the early pace is on the slow side, I certainly wont be going in all guns blazing in such a dire affair.

KEMPTON 8.10 6f Class 6 Div II

This 2nd division isn't any better but I do have 5 this time with recorded times and only MONT KIARA 8/1 has been known to lead before and if allowed an easy lead it could lead all the way as it is my 2nd top rated and that is using a c/d time but from 2019 while in its defence it has only had one previous c/d race this year and therefore will be carrying some of my money, top weight Charles Le Brun 5/2 was on my radar in its last run when it finished 3rd at Southwell and looking at its turf form I thought it would like the surface but I am not sure it will relish these conditions so maybe worth taking on with a lay bet at the price, I would also look to lay Leo Minor 13/2 as long as it stays at a single figure price, I will though be backing something else in this race, if I use its best time recorded at Lingfield then URBAN HIGHWAY 13/2 would win cosily but it has raced here four times over this c/d and none produced a time good enough to register on my graphs, I cannot let it go without a bet just in case it can reproduce its best at this course so having the two bets looks the best way forward.

7:45 Kempton Racing Tips (21st October)

KEMPTON 7.45

A strange race to analyse mainly due to both 3yo’s and lightly raced sorts, there are a couple of known front running types in Kodiac Attack and Buy Me Back and the latter is my 3rd top-rated using just 2020 c/d times so could possibly make the frame, the top weight Brenner Pass is my 2nd top-rated on 2020 c/d times and usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on at the finish, Nezar is top-rated on 2020 c/d times and another that likes to track the leaders ready to pounce nearing the finish and could be worth an each-way wager if a double-figure price but I will be backing INVINCIBLE LARNE 6/1 who has never run over this c/d but it has a time from Chelmsford, the same surface but left-handed while this course is right-handed if taking to this course and able to reproduce its best time it would win this race rather cosily and as that time was recorded this year I am willing to take that risk.

Invincible Larne 6/1 3rd (-1pt)

KEMPTON 8.15

This is a dire affair and its only because I've seen a horse that looks overpriced on the tissue prices that I am bothering with the race, I've only got 5 with recorded times Passional is 5th top using a Southwell time and may be better over further and this race might not be run to suit its style, Bold Decision 4th top but looks to want a slower surface or further or maybe both, Mercers is 3rd top using a c/d time from last year and could make the frame but maybe won't be an each-way price, *Fard is 2nd top-rated using a Newcastle time from 2019 and has a decent time over the same c/d this year and maybe worth an each-way punt, URBAN HIGHWAY 11/1 is top rated using a Lingfield time from last year, it hasn't shown much so far this year but has (EW) raced mainly in slightly higher grade races and the switch of jockey makes me think they are expecting an improved performance here.

4:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (9th September)

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.00 Div I

Not too bad of a race for a class 6 affair, I will start with a couple of lays (Tilsworth Rose+Teepee Time) the early pace could come via Thegreyvtrain and A Go Go who are my 4th and 5th top rated, 2nd top rated on just 2020 times and 3rd top overall is Swell Song who usually likes to track the pacesetters, Kibaar comes out 2nd best using a Newcastle time from 2019 while its sole run over this c/d resulted in a slow time, this horse has been well handicapped for awhile now and this time with a 7lb claiming apprentice taking the ride who has a 9% win ratio on the stables older horses so I will give QAARAAT 3/1 one more chance to prove its worth as this does look the easiest chance of all of its recent runs.

Qaaraat 3/1 3rd (-1pt)

Lay bets: Tilsworth Rose +1pt, Teepee Time +1pt

KEMPTON 4.05

There's not much data to work with in this sprint and with four 3yo’s I was going to leave the race alone but I persevered and something came to light that might have put me on the right path but I will only be having a small each way bet if its *eight to one or bigger and that horse is URBAN HIGHWAY 12/1 (*EW) who can be held up or track the leaders and the 5lb claiming apprentice jockey could swing things in its favour and the jockette has a 24% win rate on this stables older horses so I'm hoping that's a good omen for this race.

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.35 Div II

This is a poor race where i have only got 3 with recorded speed figures and they are all in the lower echelons of my ratings which doesn't inspire confidence, I will look to lay a couple of the runners (Smokey + Secret Identity) they are both 3yo’s, the 1st one may need further to show its best while the latter is still a maiden after 11 runs and only produced a slow time over this c/d, Independence Day is 3rd top overall using a Newcastle time, the top weight Lady Florence is 2nd top using a Lingfield time so I'm not even sure it will like this surface but top my top rated is RED ALLURE 12/1 (EW) again using a Newcastle time and a reproduction of it here would see it winning this race but the time when it won over this c/d before was a slow run affair, its got the plum stall 1 draw in its favour and I will back it if an each way price.

1:15 Newmarket Racing Tips & Lay Bets (6th June)

*PLEASE CHECK THE GOING AT NEWMARKET IF ITS NOT GOOD OR FASTER MY SPEED FIGURES ARE IRRELEVANT NEWMARKET (NO BET)

1.15 NEWMARKET -

A tricky race to start the Guineas meeting at racings headquarters, I live quite close and find it a soulless place and without binoculars and a good vantage point you end up watching the giant screen on the other side of the track at the finish line, any back to racing, I will look to lay 3 horses, (Leodis Dream who is better on the AW, while both Count D’arcy + Aplomb prefer a slower surface, as there is rain forecast for later today I suggest you don't lay the last two until you see if the going has softened) the bottom 3 in the handicap, Blue De Vega, Royal Birth, and Restless Rose, all have good speed figures but not at class 2 level on turf, Makanah could go well here and has a positive looking jockey booking, my money will be carried by STONE OF DESTINY 6/1 who I will be backing each way, it is a tricky race so my stakes will be kept on the low side.

Stone Of Destiny 6/1 EW 4th (-2pt)

Lay bets: Leodis Dream +1pt, Count D'arcy +1pt, Aplomb +1pt

Total +1pts

NEWMARKET 1.50

This looks a very competitive Group 3 affair, where I can only see one to lay (Far Above who I think needs further and may get outpaced here) I can see any of Major Jumbo, Arecibo, Judicial, Ornate, Tarboosh, Hareem Queen, Shades Of Blue and Queens Gift, running big races but my money will be riding on MOSS GILL 5/1 who won its last race on the AW and that was maybe to get it fit for a tilt at this race and if I'm right the early 8/1 on offer may be good each-way value.

Moss Gill 5/1 6th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Far Above - 3.5pts

Total: - 4.5pts

LINGFIELD 4.55

A very competitive class 5 sprint, I have found 4 horses to lay (Becker + Soldiers Son + Discreet Hero + Camachess) one that could be on my list of potential winners is Pettochside who has a time from Kempton that would make it my top-rated but it has run over this c/d twice and done virtually nothing which would make it one to lay, so best left alone? EQUIPPED 7/2 is one that I will be backing as it has good trainer/jockey stats, The Lacemaker has 3 c/d wins but the 2 wins in 2019 were in slow run affairs and haven't done much of note timewise since 2018 which puts me off its chances, I will have to back URBAN HIGHWAY 10/1 each way, it did the best c/d time in 2019 although the jockey booking doesn't look a positive move, there is a lack of known frontrunners so stakes will be kept low.

Equipped 7/2 2nd (-1pt)
Urban Highway 12/1 EW 9th (-2pt)

Lay bets: Becker +1pt, Soldier's Son +1pt, Discreet Hero +1pt, Camachess +1pt

Total: +1pt

NEWCASTLE 5.05

I will highlight the 3 I will be laying first (Global Humor + Somewhere Secret + Comptons Finale, all 3 might prefer a longer trip and the latter pair might also prefer a slower surface) the bottom-weight BOUDICA BAY 12/1 has only run once on the AW but looking at its form on turf it could be a hidden danger and may be worth an each-way interest, LONGROOM 5/2 won its last race on March 5th and if in the same vein of form could win again here, MARIETTA ROBUSTI 12/1 finished 2nd last time out three-quarters of a length behind Longroom and strictly at the weights Longroom should beat it again but the apprentice jockey gave it far too much to do that day and now back in the hands of a professional jockey could do better and another may be worth an each-way wager but again it's a race where my stakes will be lowish.

Boudica Bay 14/1 EW 2nd (+2.5pts)
Longroom 11/4 4th (-1pt)
Marietta Rosti 25/1 EW 6th (-2pts)

Lay bets: Global Humor +1pt, Somewhere Secret +1pt, Comptons +1pt
