12:50 Southwell Racing Tips (20th January)

SOUTHWELL 12.50

This is one of those lowly stakes races where the highest official handicap rating fifty and in this race there's only one horse rated that highly and that is USTATH 11/2 who hasn't shown anything of note recently but as its the only known front running type in this race it could bounce back to form so has to carry some of my money just in case it leads all the way and is my top rated but in such a poor race my stakes will be kept low. I don't think its a race where its advisable to be laying anything but i will be backing MUTABAAHY 10/1 in this race as it hasn't any course and distance form to its name but is my top rated using a time it recorded in 2021 at Wolverhampton, so I will covering the angle of front running type and those with ratings from different courses by backing them both.

Ustath 11/2 2nd -1pt

NEWCASTLE 5.45

Most of the 9 runners have the same racing style of tracking the leaders but none of the runners are natural front running types which always makes analysis difficult, I can also see a trio of horses, Bellagio Man, Maritimes Rules and Motawaazy who race as though they would do better over further so unless one of them decides to set a decent early gallop the race might not be run to suit them. Primos Comet has a fast time to its name but its last win on an AW track was back in 2019, Modular Magic is top rated using just course and distance ratings and might be a short price because of finishing 2nd last time out in a slow run affair. Bert Kibbler could go well here and won its last 2 races but they were over a year ago so not sure if it will be fit enough to do itself justice but if fully fit it could at least make the frame. My money will be riding on DUSKY PRINCE 9/1 who finished 3rd last time out and with the apprentice jockeys 5lb claim becomes my top rated so could get back to winning ways here.

Dusky Prince 10/1 2nd -1pt

Another race with 9 runners but at at least there is 1 known front running type in this race. Delta Romeo hasn't any form in England to work with so not sure exactly what to expect but I think it might be a better prospect when racing over a longer distance but I'm not confident enough to put it forward as a lay . The early pace could be set by Gowanbuster but has only slow times to its name since 2021 but did finish 2nd last time out so is in good form. I think any bet in this race will be risky but maybe a small punt on ORIENTAL LILLY 10/1 (EW) might pay dividends but also leaving the race alone wouldn't be a bad decision but if a double figure price it might be worth an each way punt.

1:45 Lingfield Racing Tips (30th November)

LINGFIELD 1.45

Only 5 runners for this class 3 sprint, Benny And The Jets may need this run for fitness and is also better when raced over a shorter trip, Global Warning has been in poor form lately and is the outsider in the field, I'm not convinced this surface is the favoured one for Mount Mogan although its best Newcastle rating would make it my top rated, Rovanlemi ha poor jockey stats 0-18 and may need a longer trip which leaves me with TOP BREEZE 11/4 I expect will be the favourite but is capable of leading all the way against today's opposition.

Top breeze 11/4 4th -1pt

NEWCASTLE 3.45

I can see 4 front running types in this field of 14, I've marked 5 down as possible lays but looking at the tissue prices only Captain Corcoran might be of value to do so, Ballyare 9/2 is usually held up for a late run and its best rating from 2020 would make it my 2nd top rated while its best from 2021 would only put it in 4th top spot but isn't any value to do as an each way bet, For Peats Sake 11/1 likes to track the leaders and is 2nd top rated on just 2021 times but 3rd top overall so could be worth an each way punt, Lordsbridge Boy 6/1 is a front running type and has stall 1 which i am not sure is a positive on this straight course while my top rated ROYDMOOR 20/1 (EW) is also a front running type but has stall 10 and if getting to the front ought to prove hard to catch and at the price i would have to go with an each way punt.

Morty 7/2 has won its last 2 races so is in rude form but I still think its best distance is further than today's and with only one runner in this race known as a front runner this race might not be run to suit it and it would also need to improve on its best Tapeta figure from Wolverhampton, if Sharrabang is a single figure price I would look to lay it as this one wants a longer distance, COOL SPIRIT 12/1 my 4th top rated is the one I think will set the pace to the race and has a good draw in stall 14 so will be dangerous if allowed an easy lead, TOMILY 18/1 comes out 3rd best and usually likes to track the leaders and then run on at the finish, QAARAAT 12/1 also likes to track the leaders and comes out 2nd best using a 2020 c/d speed figure but has been running a stone below that level so far this year, ORIENTAL LILLY 11/2 comes out top rated using a 2019 figure but hasn't run over this c/d since then and is usually held up for a late surge, none of the selections have good trainer/jockey stats or the stable has been out of form recently so I will dutch all 4 of them to a total stake of two points

Oriental Lily 11/2 2nd -0.5pts
Qaaraat 12/1 3rd -0.5pts
Cool Spirit 14/1 9th -0.5pts
Tomily 25/1 Unp -0.5pts

NEWCASTLE 6.15 Div I

I will hopefully be able to lay Birdie Bowers 15/2 in this first division, it is still a maiden after 11 runs, has poor trainer/jockey stats and the stable hasn't had a winner for 40 days from 10 runners, I think Lancashire Life 8/1 could set the pace to the race and it does come out 2nd best on my figures but the jockey/trainer stats with 3yo’s at this course is poor which puts me off a little but it could possibly make the frame, Atrafan comes out 4th best on my figures with The Grey Bay sitting in 3rd top spot and both can either be held up for a late run or track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish so either of these two could also make the frame but I will be putting my faith in the top weight REDZONE 9/2 who likes to track the early pacemakers before staying on the stronger at the finish and stall 12 should be ideal but the trainers recent 0-16 means my stake will be kept low.

NEWCASTLE 6.45 Div II

In this race I will look to lay Barrington 9/1 if its a single figure price because I don't think this surface really suits it whereas if this race was on polytrack it would probably be the one I would be backing, I have just 3lbs between Hurstwood, Paddy Power and The Mackem Torpedo in 6th to 4th top spots on my figures, I've got joint 2nd top rated horses with Red Allure and Sleight, the former can be held up or track the leaders while the latter is usually held up for a late burst but I will be back the 3yo FIRCOMBE HALL 13/2 who has a time from 2020 which makes it my top rated by 9lb’s but I have to admit its not been at that level so far this year but did indicate it was coming to hand when finishing 2nd last time out and could go one better here.

2:35 Lingfield Racing Tips & Lay Bets (15th February)

LINGFIELD 2.35

Just the essentials for each race with so many races to cover, I will look to lay (Tinto) my 4th top-rated is Mohareb who has been known to lead before and this 4 year could still be able to improve, Merhoob another possible pacesetter is my 3rd top-rated but maybe Lady Dancelot from stall 2 can get out and take control on the rails as it's my 2nd top-rated but I will be backing KACHY 4/5 who will be settled in behind the leaders ready to pounce as the line looms but I will be very surprised if it's not an odds on favourite but it can bolster a multi bet.

Kachy 4/5 PU

Lay bet: Tinto (+1pt)

LINGFIELD 3.10

There's a couple of horses I will look to lay, (Jack The Truth + Zac Brown) the bottom-weight Something Lucky is capable of a fast time but usually, in a lower class race than this one, Momtahil is my 2nd top-rated and could be a danger but I will be backing GREEN DOOR 7/2 who is my top rated and I am hoping can lead from start to finish here.

Green Door 7/2 2nd

Lay bets: Jack The Truth (-6pts) Zac Brown (+1pt)

NEWCASTLE 6.30

A full house of 14 runners in this class 5 race and to be honest it's hard to confidently narrow it down as there's different speed figures on different surfaces, I have 3 that will look to lay (Gamesome + Desert Ace + Airwaves) to make sure of a small profit even my selection doesn't win, Spirit Power is outside my top 3 on just 2019/20 c/d times but had a time from Kempton that would make it top rated but maybe this course doesn't suit it as well but it does have good trainer + jockey stats which may be a pointer to connections expecting a big run here, Big Lachie has a 2018 time that would see it make the frame, Rumshak could set the pace and then become a danger, Mutabaahy has a 7lb claiming apprentice riding which puts it in the mix, my money will be riding on the top-weighted TATHMEEN 5/1 who won last time out and has been found a good chance to follow up.

Tathmeen 5/1 3rd

Lay bets: Gameson (+1pt) Desert Ace (+1pt) Airwaves (+1pt)

NEWCASTLE 8.00

With 3 known front-running types it should be a true run affair, its hard to find something to lay in this race and just as hard to narrow it down to less than three selections which I will look to dutch, Calin's Lad has an interesting jockey booking but would need to improve timewise to win this race, I KNOW HOW 4/1 is my 3rd top-rated and another with a positive looking jockey booking, LUCKY LODGE 7/1 is my 2nd top-rated and again it's one with a positive looking jockey choice and I have to include my top-rated *ORIENTAL LILLY 11/1 and being a hold-up type that likes a strong pace to aim at this race could be run to suit but I will be backing the 3 horses mentioned but may be tilted in favour of my top rated.

NEWCASTLE 8.30

Another full house of 14 runners and I can only find 2 horses to lay (*Strawberryandcream + Highland Acclaim) Olivia R will be staying on at the finish as will Dream Mount and both may be better over further but they both have very good jockey stats, timewise KOMMANDER KIRKUP 16/1, ZEBULON 9/1, GUNMAKER 3/1, and ONE ONE SEVEN 8/1 are all closely rated so I cannot split them although the latter would be the sole selection if its best time had come at this course instead of at Wolverhampton.

Zebulon 9/1 3rd
Kommander Kirkup 16/1 5th
One One Seven 10/1 6th

3:30 Newcastle Winning Racing Tips (22nd November)

NEWCASTLE 3.30

Not bad for an apprentice jockeys race who are not allowed to carry whips so it might be very hard to know which horses will give their all without the whip to persuade them so any stakes will be kept low, luckily on this course the draw doesn't matter too much and I think this race may be run from the front, both Dirchill and One Last hug are well weighted and the former is a possible pacesetter but is on a losing run of 20 and is 0-14 on the AW tracks, my money will be riding on the 3-year-old HASSAAD 7/1 who is hopefully capable of leading all the way here.

Hassaad 7/1 2nd

NEWCASTLE 4.30

I've got Gowanbuster marked as the only known frontrunner in this race and it is my 4th top-rated so quite a few might not be able to get involved here, Tathmeen likes to track the leaders and comes out 3rd best, Landing Night sits in 2nd top spot and like every horse bar the frontrunner likes to track the pacesetters, my top rated is BE PROUD 5/1 and this 3-year-old could still have some improvement in it and will be the one I back but my stakes won't be at full strength in this race.

Be Proud 5/1 4th

NEWCASTLE 7.00

This race looks pretty poor and I've only got 6 of the 14 runners with a time fast enough to register on my figures and I was looking to dutch all 6 of them as I had no idea what will win until I looked through the trainer/jockey stats. Almuur, Kenny The Captain, Klopp, Kommander Kirkup and Mount Wellington could all go well here especially the first mentioned Almuur as this 3-year-old could still improve as it will need to and the jockey does well for this stable but my money will be on ORIENTAL LILLY 5/1 who is a hold up type, it came out joint top-rated on just 2019 course and distance times but there was a couple with higher speed figures from 2018 or from Wolverhampton but it has a slightly faster time from 2018 and the apprentice jockeys claim could swing things into its favour.
