3:40 Newcastle Racing Tips (17th November)

NEWCASTLE 3.40 

With a couple of known front running types it should be a true run race but I doubt Dickieburd will be able to cope with the early pace of Strong Johnson 6/1 who is my 4th top rated over this distance, and this one could do enough to make the frame but isn't what I would call an each way price, the 3yo’s Brooklyn Nine Nine 5/1 and Dickieburd 6/1 both might be better prospects when racing over a longer distance and if of value they might be worth laying them to a small set liabilities, Ramon Di Loria 12/1 can produce decent ratings but this class of race might be too much for it to win but maybe it could make the frame but I will be leaving it alone unless its of value to lay,Treacherous 8/1 who likes to track the leaders and is well drawn in stall 11 sits in 3rd top spot so could go well here and possibly make the frame, in 2nd top spot is Princess Karine 7/1 who also likes to track the leaders so is another that could make the frame but I will be taking a punt on VENTUROUS 12/1 (EW) who is another that likes to track the leaders and has the plum draw in stall 12, it hasn't run for 2 months but has won twice before when returning from a break so it known to go well when fresh and hopefully it can get a good position on the rails and prove the stronger nearing the finish and at the price it has to be an each way punt.

NEWCASTLE 12.25 

A poor turnout in all 3 sprints today with just 5 in this race, I think both Good Earth 13/8 and Zapper Cass 15/2 would prefer a longer distance and might be worth laying while both Mokaman and SECRETINTHEPARK 4/1 like to lead and I think the latter will do best of the pair and could possibly lead all the way and will be carrying some of my money but PHOENIX STAR 2/1 is rated exactly the same on my figures but does have a 3lb claiming apprentice on board which moves it to top spot but i am not confident enough to split them so I will be backing them both.

Up to 6 runners for this six furlong sprint and I expect the pace to be set by Alikido but hasn't any form in England on the AW tracks but would need to improve time wise to win this race but never say never if its allowed an easy lead, I will look to lay Nigel Nott if its a single figure price who I think is better over a shorter distance, Tipperary Tyger and Ballyconneely Bay could run ok here but I will be backing TOUSSARAK 11/2 who usually likes to track the leaders before running on strongly nearing the finish, its one previous c/d run is a few spot off of winning this race but if able to reproduce its best rating from Chelmsford in 2021 it would be winning with a bit in reserve.

A 5 furlong dash with 2 known front runners, I'm not sure King Of Stars is capable beating REGIONAL 13/2 in the battle for the lead and if this one can repeat its best Chelmsford rating it would be winning a shade cosily but there's no guarantee it will like this surface but it will be carrying some of my cash, I think the top weight Good Effort 6/5 would prefer a longer trip and would be one I would look to lay especially if it is a short priced favourite which is what the tissue prices predict, I have MONDAMMEJ 7/2 as my top rated just 3lbs higher than VENTUROUS 8/1 in 2nd top spot, as the latter usually races more prominently than the former it may get first run on its rival but I cannot split them confidently and I am not sure if it will be worthwhile dutching 3 horses in a 5 runner race so the betting will be the deciding factor in this race. It's one of those races do I dutch 3 runners or do I lay the hot favourite or maybe be brave and do both, what you do is up to you I only ever say what I intend to be backing or laying and I will only make my mind up near the off time.

1:45 Lingfield Racing Tips (12th January)

LINGFIELD 1.45 

A field of ten with three known to lead and two of them have the stall one and two draw so the race could evolve around them, I will look to lay (Hey Ho Lets Go 4/1) who races as though further will suit it better and I don't think it will catch the leaders but could possibly run into a place but i doubt it will be an each way price, anything else I don't fancy I think will be double figure prices so of no value, A Go Go is a possible pacesetter but stall ten isn't ideal and its only joint 5th top on my figures along with Something Lucky, the top weight Saaheq is my 3rd top rated and with the apprentices seven pound claim it moves to top spot but the apprentices no wins from two attempts for the stable puts me off a little, Smokey is joint top rated but stall nine isn't going to help its cause and it has been beaten on both of its previous course and distance runs, my money will be riding on SPUROFTHEMOMENT 9/2 who is a front running type and has the plum draw in stall one and has been found the ideal opportunity to follow up on its win from last time it ran.

Just 7 runners and only Mythmaker known as a front runner but this one is only 5th top rated on my figures but could do better with an uncontested early lead, I will look to lay (Spartan Fighter 5/1 has had 2 previous c/d runs but not made the frame in either) I've got just 1lb between my top 3 horses, Be Proud moves to top spot thanks to its jockeys 5lb claim but the jockey only has a 7% win ratio for the stable, Glasvegas also moves to joint top spot this time thanks to its apprentices 3lb claim but this ones time came from Wolverhampton in 2020 but is 0-5 on its AW races, my money will be riding on VENTURA LIGHTNING 11/1 who is only 1lb off top spot and its time was recorded on its only previous run over this c/d last year and this is a drop in class.

WOLVERHAMPTON 5.00

Again only 7 runners with 2 known front runners and another that has led but only if nothing else wants to, on my speed figures Royal Birth looks as though it might get outpaced and therefore should be a lay but it has a good jockey booking making me think connections are expecting a big run, Lomu comes out 2nd best on my figures but the jockeys 0-5 record for the stable is a little off-putting, the bottom weight VENTUROUS 5/2 is another with good jockey stats who is well in on official handicap ratings and could do best of those coming from off the pace, I will also be backing ORNATE 11/2 who is a front running sort and if getting to the front could prove hard to catch, so I will back them both to cover the angles.
